ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Style dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can check the following items to change the general style of the UCMenu :
Show the text
Display the text.
Frame the items
Draw a 3D frame around each item.
Force the size
Use the Width and Height fields to specify the size in pixels you
want to give to each item.
If the item is smaller, it is centered.
If the item is bigger, the bitmap is shrunk.
There are three shrink modes :
Ignore
Ignore the lost lines and columns, works best for bitmaps with
lots of colors.
And
Works best for bitmaps with dark drawings on light backgrounds.
Or
Works best for bitmaps with light drawings on dark backgrounds.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Item edition notebook ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This notebook is displayed when you select Create item or Edit item from the
context menu. You can display one of the following pages :
o Position
o General
o Action
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Item position ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can create an item at the End of the UCMenu, Before or After the current
item.
Note: If you did not display the context menu over an item, you can just chose
End
If you select the Non selectable item button, the created item will not be
selectable and will just be used as a decoration.
If you select the Spacer button, the created item will be an item without text,
bitmap or frame, which can be used as a separator.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. General ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This page allows to chose the text and the bitmap of an item. An item must have
at least one of the two.
Title
Text to be written in the item if the Show text style is chosen.
An accelerator key can be defined by putting a "~" in front of the
chosen character. The character will be displayed underscored on the
item and pressing on its key while the focus is on the UCMenu will
select the item.
Built-in...
Display a dialog to chose a new bitmap among the set of built-in
bitmaps.
Load...
Display a file dialog to chose a new bitmap.
Edit...
If the icon comes from a file, start iconedit to edit it.
Create...
Start iconedit to create a new bitmap.
Under the bitmap frame is displayed its filename, or its id if it comes from
the resources.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Item action ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The chosen Function will be executed with the associated Parameters when the
item is selected.
You can chose the function in a list:
o The ExecuteProgram function starts the program given in the Parameters field
in another thread.
o The other functions supplied depends on the application using the UCMenu.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Drag and drop features ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can use drag and drop to copy or move items between ucmenus.
The default operation is move, you can also do a copy if you press the Control
key while dropping.
It is possible to do drag and drop between ucmenus from different applications.
The submenus attached to an item are not kept if you do a copy, or if you do a
drag and drop between different applications.
If you press the Alt key while dropping over an item , the operation will be a
copy to the submenu of this item. If it had no submenu, one will be created.
A frame is drawn around the destination item.
On an horizontal or matrix ucmenu, the dropped item can go either to the left
or to the right of the destination item, depending on the drop zone.
On a vertical ucmenu, it goes to the top or to the bottom of the destination
You can drop on the part of the UCMenu where there are no items, the dropped
item will be added at the end.
An item can be rendered as a bitmap file.
If its bitmap comes from a file and not from the application, an item can be
dropped for example on iconedit to edit its bitmap.
If a bitmap file is dropped, a new item using this bitmap is created.
An item can also be dropped on the shredder to be deleted.
Fonts and colors can be dragged and dropped from the system palettes to change
the appearance of the ucmenu.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Context Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can select an action which will affect either one item or the whole
toolbar.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Edit item... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Display a notebook to select the bitmap, text and action associated to the
item.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Create item... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Display a notebook to select the bitmap, text, action and position
of the new item.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Delete. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Deletes the item on which the context menu was popped up.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Change style... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Display a dialog to modify the appearance of the tool bar.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. Load default. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Switch back to the original tool bar.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Import... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Restore a tool bar from a file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Export... ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Save a tool bar to a file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15. Toolbar buffet dialog. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The top toolbar is the buffet, it contains all the built-in items.
The bottom toolbar represents the toolbar you want to modify.
You can drag items :
o From the buffet to the bottom toolbar to add them.
o Inside the bottom toolbar to change their ordering.
o From the bottom toolbar to the shredder icon to remove them.
You can click on an item to pop up a message box with its description.
You can also click on the right mouse button over a bottom toolbar item to
display the context menu and do more advanced modifications.
