  1. EBOOKIE allows you to easily edit tagged files with the
  2. EPM editor.  Tags start with a one-character delimiter, and
  3. end with a one-character delimiter.  Those tag-start and tag-end
  4. characters, together with all tags and their parameters are defined
  5. in so called "tag-definition files".  EBOOKIE includes tag-definition
  6. files for the following tag languages:

  8. - BookMaster version 2 (as described in SC34-5009-02:  BookMaster
  9.   User's Guide).
  10.  
  11. - BookMaster version 3 (Thanks to Mike Temple).
  12.  
  13. - GML version 3.2 (as described in SH20-9187-05:  Generalized Markup
  14.   Language Starter Set Reference Release 3.2).
  15.  
  16. - FOILS5 version 5.3 (as defined in the FOILS5 Language Reference).
  17.  
  18. - APAFOIL release 2.1 (as defined in APAFOIL Release 2.1 Quick
  19.   Reference Summary).
  20.  
  21. - Information Presentation Facility (as described in PN 00F8833:
  22.   OS/2 Version 1.2 Programming Guide).

  24. The features include:
  25.  
  26. - Tag checking.  If the entered text is not a valid tag, the tag-start
  27.   character is automatically replaced by a user-defineable variable.
  28.  
  29. - Adding of the required and optional parameters for the tag.
  30.  
  31. - Automatic tag-structure creation. If a tag requires additional tags,
  32.   like end-tags, they are inserted into your text.
  33.  
  34. - Free editing. Tags can be typed anywhere in the text, EBOOKIE
  35.   positions the tag in the correct location.
  36.  
  37. - Margins changed for easier text entry.
  38.  
  39. - Tabulators move the cursor one word at a time.
  40.  
  41. - Dynamic margins (optional). Depending on the current tag structure
  42.   the tag support changes the margins automatically.
  43.  
  44. - "Remember tag" facility to assign a commonly used tag to a
  45.   keystroke. Every tag may change the tag assigned to this key.
  46.  
  47. - "Boilerplate" facility to pull text into your document by typing a
  48.   tag.  This feature is used to create default document layouts.
  49.  
  50. - Full configurability of the tags.  The parameters, and the
  51.   formatting results can be modified with up to 9 additional
  52.   user-defined tag-definition files.
  53.  
  54. - Replace special keys with symbols.
  55.  
  56. - User-exits for the enter, page-up, page-down, line-up, and line-down
  57.   keys.

  59. - Simple index creation.
  60.  
  61. - Replacement of all occurrences of special characters with the appropriate
  62.   BookMaster symbols.
  63.  
  64. - Help for all tags and tag parameters.
  65.  
  66. - Editing of imbedded files with the alt_1 key.
