ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Using CardBase ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
CardBase is a very simple database that comes with DraftIT. It has a title
field and a multi-line entry field for any information you wish to store in a
record - much like an ordinary card system. The information in the multi-line
entry field can be exported to DraftIT documents or other applications via the
clipboard, using the Edit menu.
Search strings must be entered in the top left entry field. Both the title
fields and data fields of your records are queried for this string. Searches
are case insensitive, and the results appear in the list box on the left hand
side of the CardBase window. Selecting an entry in this list box displays the
record. You can add records by typing a title in the title field and then
entering any text you wish in the multi-line entry field. Select Add from the
Record menu when done. This menu also provides options for modifying or
deleting entries. NOTE; deleted entries are merely marked as such, not
physically deleted from the database files. To delete such marked entries
permanently, select the Exit and pack option when you've finished using
CardBase.
PLEASE NOTE!
CardBase is part of the DraftIT package and therefore freeware. However, it
is only a front end and relies on the RexxBase dll to function. RexxBase is
shareware, NOT freeware. Please register it, if you wish to use CardBase
regularly. Registering RexxBase is especially attractive for ReXX programmers -
who'll get a powerful (CardBase does it little justice) and fully documented
database engine for their applications. ReXXBase is also comparatively easy to
use. To register, contact;
