  7.     Thank you for purchasing Clearlook Version 1.7 for OS/2.  This file
  8.     contains information which became available after the printed materials
  9.     went to press.

  12.     OS/2, Presentation Manager, and Workplace Shell Compatibility:

  14.     Clearlook is designed specifically for use with OS/2 Version 2 or
  15.     Version 3 and the Workplace Shell.  This includes all of the following
  16.     releases:

  18.         OS/2 Warp Server
  19.             "General Availability" release
  20.         OS/2 Warp Connect
  21.             "Red Box" (for use with Windows) release
  22.             "Blue Box" (with Win-OS2) release
  23.         OS/2 Warp (OS/2 Version 3)

  25.             "Full Pack" (with Win-OS2) release
  26.         OS/2 2.1 for Windows

  34.     Most "FixPak" levels of OS/2 Warp, Warp Connect, and Warp Server have also

  38.     next version of OS/2 Warp, code named Merlin.  For further information,

  42.     Installation Instructions
  43.  
  44.     Clearlook 1.7 is distributed on two disks. To install the software, just
  45.     run the INSTALL program found on the primary distribution disk (Disk 1)
  46.     and follow the instructions which appear.  
  47.  
  48.     If you received Clearlook 1.7 electronically, just run the INSTALL from
  49.     the directory in which you have the Clearlook 1.7 files.

  52.     User's Guide and Supplement
  53.  
  54.     Clearlook 1.7 is packaged with printed copies of both the Clearlook 1.1
  55.     User's Guide and the Clearlook 1.7 User's Guide Supplement.

  57.     The complete set of Clearlook (CTX) files for both the User's Guide and the
  58.     Supplement are also included on the Clearlook distribution disks as zip
  59.     file archives.  These zip files are not unzipped as part of the Clearlook
  60.     installation process since they are comparatively large (due to the size
  61.     of embedded screen capture pictures). If you choose to unzip the files, 
  62.     allow 11.8 Mbytes for the User's Guide and 1.5 Mbytes for the Supplement.

  64.     A modified version of the supplement, without any pictures, is installed
  65.     in the Look directory as CL17.CTX.

  68.     Of Interest to Owners of Earlier Clearlook Versions
  69.  
  70.     As discussed in the Clearlook 1.7 User's Guide Supplement, some of the
  71.     Clearlook terminology has been changed in 1.7.  In particular the term
  72.     "transform" has been replaced by "merge format."  Only the name has
  73.     changed, the concept is still the same.

  75.     Within the Look folder on your desktop, this means that the "trnsfrms" 
  76.     folder has been replaced by a "MrgFmts" folder.  If you are installing
  77.     Clearlook 1.7 over an earlier version, you will end up with both 
  78.     folders: "trnsfrms" will contain your old merge formats and "MrgFmts" 
  79.     will contain the new ones provided with Clearlook 1.7.  However, when
  80.     you use the new Tools Merge function (which replaces Tools Transform),
  81.     it will always look in the new "MrgFmts" folder rather than the old 
  82.     "trnsfrms" folder.

  84.     Thus, if you have created your own transforms for use with an earlier
  85.     version, you should copy them from the old "trnsfrms" folder into the
  86.     new "MrgFmts" folder.  It is also recommended that you eventually remove
  87.     the "trnsfrms" folder in order to avoid future confusion.
