  13.     Thank you for purchasing Clearlook Version 1.7 for OS/2.  This file
  14.     contains information which became available after the printed materials
  15.     went to press.
  16.     OS/2, Presentation Manager, and Workplace Shell Compatibility:
  17.     Clearlook is designed specifically for use with OS/2 Version 2 or
  18.     Version 3 and the Workplace Shell.  This includes all of the following
  19.     releases:
  20.         OS/2 Warp Server
  21.             "General Availability" release
  22.         OS/2 Warp Connect
  23.             "Red Box" (for use with Windows) release
  24.             "Blue Box" (with Win-OS2) release
  25.         OS/2 Warp (OS/2 Version 3)
  26.             "Red Box" (for use with Windows) release
  27.             "Full Pack" (with Win-OS2) release
  28.         OS/2 2.1 for Windows 
  29.             "General Availability" release
  30.             "Service Pack" (CSD 6300) release
  31.         OS/2 2.1 
  32.             "General Availability" release
  33.             "Service Pack" (CSD 6200) release
  34.             "Manufacturing Refresh" (2.11) release
  35.     Most "FixPak" levels of OS/2 Warp, Warp Connect, and Warp Server have also
  36.     been tested.
  37.     Initial testing has also been done with the first beta release of the
  38.     next version of OS/2 Warp, code named Merlin.  For further information,

  40.     Installation Instructions
  41.     Clearlook 1.7 is distributed on two disks. To install the software, just
  42.     run the INSTALL program found on the primary distribution disk (Disk 1)
  43.     and follow the instructions which appear.  
  44.     If you received Clearlook 1.7 electronically, just run the INSTALL from
  45.     the directory in which you have the Clearlook 1.7 files.
  46.     User's Guide and Supplement
  47.     Clearlook 1.7 is packaged with printed copies of both the Clearlook 1.1
  48.     User's Guide and the Clearlook 1.7 User's Guide Supplement.
  49.     The complete set of Clearlook (CTX) files for both the User's Guide and the
  50.     Supplement are also included on the Clearlook distribution disks as zip
  51.     file archives.  These zip files are not unzipped as part of the Clearlook
  52.     installation process since they are comparatively large (due to the size
  53.     of embedded screen capture pictures). If you choose to unzip the files, 
  54.     allow 11.8 Mbytes for the User's Guide and 1.5 Mbytes for the Supplement.
  55.     A modified version of the supplement, without any pictures, is installed
  56.     in the Look directory as CL17.CTX.
  57.     Of Interest to Owners of Earlier Clearlook Versions
  58.     As discussed in the Clearlook 1.7 User's Guide Supplement, some of the
  59.     Clearlook terminology has been changed in 1.7.  In particular the term
  60.     "transform" has been replaced by "merge format."  Only the name has
  61.     changed, the concept is still the same.
  62.     Within the Look folder on your desktop, this means that the "trnsfrms" 
  63.     folder has been replaced by a "MrgFmts" folder.  If you are installing
  64.     Clearlook 1.7 over an earlier version, you will end up with both 
  65.     folders: "trnsfrms" will contain your old merge formats and "MrgFmts" 
  66.     will contain the new ones provided with Clearlook 1.7.  However, when
  67.     you use the new Tools Merge function (which replaces Tools Transform),
  68.     it will always look in the new "MrgFmts" folder rather than the old 
  69.     "trnsfrms" folder.  
  70.     Thus, if you have created your own transforms for use with an earlier
  71.     version, you should copy them from the old "trnsfrms" folder into the
  72.     new "MrgFmts" folder.  It is also recommended that you eventually remove
  73.     the "trnsfrms" folder in order to avoid future confusion.
