  27. This is a backup and restore program for use with the WANGTEK QIC PC 
  28. streamers on a PC36 controller. 
  29.  
  30. As the program was designed for daily unattended automatic backup, 
  31. you can either start the program manually from an OS/2 window or 
  32. automatically from within an application program, using the 
  33. 'system' shell subroutine.

  40. To use the program, you must have loaded the WANGTEK device 
  41. driver via an entry in CONFIG.SYS:
  42.  
  43. DEVICE=C:\path\WGTKPC36.SYS [-p=0x300] [-i=5] [-d=1]

  45. -p=0x... portaddress of the controller card in hex.
  46.          default 0x300

  48. -d=xx... DMA channel of the controller card [1,2 or 3]

  59. After modifying CONFIG.SYS and restarting your PC, 
  60. you can save an entire directory with WGTKPC36:
  61.  
  62. WGTKPC36 -O=optc -K=kbuf -S=spath -P=mpat
  63.  
  64.     and restore it under an other disk/directory
  65.  
  66. WGTKPC36 -O=optc -K=kbuf -R=rpath
  67.

  77. The regular command line parameters are:
  78.  
  79. optc  - string of option characters
  80.        E - erase tape before writing to it
  81.        T - tape retension before any action
  82.        R - recurse into subdirectories when saving
  83.        O - overwrite existing files when restoring
  84.        V - verify tape<->disk after saving or restoring
  85.  
  86. kbuf  - number of kilobytes to use as buffer
  87.  
  88. spath - disk/directory to be saved
  89.  
  90. rpath - disk/directory to restore to (must exist)
  91.  
  92. mpat  - match pattern, e.g. *.exe 
  93.         Do not use with the R(ecurse) option character
  94.

  96. Note: there is always only one entire directory of your
  97.       disk on a tape. Sure this may be the entire disk C:\
  98.

  103. Terms of use / License
  104.  
  105. These programs are fully protected by copyright under German 
  106. law and international treaty provisions. 
  107.  
  108. Evaluation Period. You may use a shareware copy of the program for an 
  109. evaluation period of up to 28 days, in order to determine whether the 
  110. program meets your needs before purchasing it.  Once the evaluation 
  111. period ends, you agree to either purchase a registered copy of the 
  112. program, or to stop using it.

  114. If you have ordered a registered copy of the program from us, you may 
  115. continue to use your shareware copy until your registered copy arrives. 
  116. Registered users receive service and support from us. 
  117.  
  118. Use of the Program.  While you are evaluating the Program, you may use 
  119. it on one computer. Your 28-day evaluation period begins when you first 
  120. install the Program on one computer for evaluation purposes. Once the 
  121. evaluation period is over and you purchase the program, your use is 
  122. subject to the following restriction: 
  123. you agree not to install or use any individual copy of the Program on 
  124. more than one computer at a time. However, you may install an individual 
  125. copy simultaneously on one computer at work, one computer at home, and one 
  126. portable computer, if all these computers are used primarily by the same 
  127. individual, and there is no possibility that the computers will be in use 
  128. at the same time except while you are actively transferring files between
  129. them. (If the program was purchased by your employer you agree to get your 
  130. employer's explicit permission before installing the program on multiple 
  131. computers as described above.)

  133. Making and distributing shareware copies of the program.
  134. You may make copies of your shareware copy of WGTKPC36 to give to others, 
  135. as long as you include all files that you originally received with your 
  136. shareware copy. When you give a shareware copy of the program to another 
  137. person, you agree to inform them that their copy is to be used for a time 
  138. limited evaluation period, and that they must purchase a registered copy 
  139. if they continue to use the program once the evaluation period has ended.

  141. You agree not to sell shareware copies of the program or distribute them 
  142. to others for any kind of compensation or fee.

  144. Copying registered copies of the program.
  145. When you receive a registered copy of the program you may make copies of 
  146. the program software which are necessary for normal backup purposes. 
  147. You agree not to make any other copies of the software, the manual(s), 
  148. or any part of them, or sell or give any copies to others, without our 
  149. advance written permission.

  151. Operation of the program.  
  152. The program offers powerful capabilities. If you do not follow our 
  153. instructions, or if you use the program improperly, you can destroy 
  154. files or cause other damage to your software and data and to the connected 
  155. peripherals. You assume full responsibility for the selection and use of 
  156. the program to achieve your intended results.

  159. LIMITED WARRANTY:  
  160. The following limited warranty applies to registered copies of the program.
  161. It is included here so you understand what your warranty will be when you 
  162. purchase a registered copy.  This warranty does NOT apply to shareware copies
  163. of the program.

  165.       Physical Defects.  We pledge that the disks and manuals we send you 
  166. will arrive free of physical defects which may interfere with normal use. 
  167. If you find such a defect and report it to us within 90 days after you 
  168. purchase the program, we agree to replace the defective item(s) at no 
  169. charge to you as long as the defect was not caused by misuse or abuse.

  171.       Bugs and Program Errors.  
  172. We don't promise that the program will be free of bugs or program errors. 
  173. If you report a program error or bug to us, we will do our best to correct
  174. it. If we issue a maintenance release for the program which includes a 
  175. correction for an error you reported, we will send you a copy of that 
  176. maintenance release at no charge if you request it. We will only do this 
  177. for maintenance releases, not other new versions.
