  19. This USBKEYBD.EXE driver package provides you with IBM's most current support
  20. for Universal Serial Bus (USB) keyboard devices on the OS/2 Operating System.
  21.  
  22. 1.1  The USBKEYBD.EXE file that you received contains the following 3 USB
  23.      files in a self-extracting compressed format.
  24.  
  25.         -  README.TXT    This file that you are reading
  26.         -  USBKINST.EXE  Executable that installs USB keyboard driver support
  27.         -  USBKBD.SYS    USB Keyboard Driver

  30. 2.0  USB-Keyboard Installation Instructions
  31. ===========================================

  33. 2.1  To use these USB driver files, you must expand the USBKEYBD.EXE file into
  34.      its 3 component files by
  35.         (a.) opening an OS/2 window and
  36.         (b.) typing USBKEYBD at the OS/2 command prompt.
  37.      Once the USBKEYBD.EXE file is expanded, please continue with the
  38.      USB Installation Instructions.

  40. 2.2 At the OS/2 command prompt, type USBKINST. This command will:
  41.     (a.) Verify that the Basic USB device driver support is present.
  42.     (b.) Save the existing CONFIG.SYS file
  43.     (c.) Add the USB keyboard device drivers to the OS2\BOOT directory on the
  44.          Boot partition.
  45.     (d.) Update the CONFIG.SYS file with the appropriate USB keyboard entries.
  46.             DEVICE=C:\OS2\BOOT\USBKBD.SYS
  47.  
  48.             Where C: is the drive letter of the OS/2 boot partition on your
  49.             system.

  51. 2.3 This completes the installation procedure. You must now REBOOT you system
  52.     to initialize the USB keyboard device driver support.

  55. 3.0  USB-Keyboard Un-Install Instructions
  56. ================================
  57.  
  58. 3.1  Copy your original CONFIG.SYS file that you previously backed up to
  59.      the OS/2 boot-partition root directory on your system and overwrite
  60.      the USB-version of CONFIG.SYS that is already in your OS/2
  61.      boot-partition root directory.
  62.  
  63. 3.2  Safely shut down and then re-boot your system in order to re-load the
  64.      original (non-USB) mouse and keyboard drivers properly.
