This file describes the changes made in the Software Release package 2.3. The
device drivers support the ULTRA 34F and ULTRA 34FA. Information files
pertinent to ULTRA 34F and ULTRA 34FA are also included; they are "34F.TXT"
and "34FA.TXT" respectively. For detailed installation procedures, please
refer to your User Manual.

\UNIX\14SVR40.Z : UNIX System V Release 4.0 device driver.
\UNIX\14SVR42.Z : UNIX System V Release 4.2 device driver.
Note: All UNIX drivers are in compressed format. Return the enclosed postcard
to UltraStor for an uncompressed version of the driver. (Device driver
for Interactive UNIX 4.0 is in uncompressed format and is not included
in this diskette.)
Due to the restriction of the UNIX operating system, device drivers for
SVR4.0, SVR4.2 and Interactive UNIX 4.0 require the controller IRQ to be
set to 14.
A device driver for SVR4.2 with IRQ fixed to 10 is available through
the UltraStor Bulletin Board in case a conflict occurred with other
components in the system.

What's New in Release 2.3:
The SETUP program provides an easy configuration for your ULTRA 34FA.
In addition, the SETUP utility also installs device drivers and softwares for
you depending on the package you have purchased: ULTRA 34FX controller card
only, ULTRA 34FX Kit package, or ULTRA 34FX Pro package.
The SETUP program is self-explanatory. To launch the SETUP utility, insert
the "Utility and Device Drivers" diskette into your floppy drive (A: or B:),
change to the floppy drive that contains the diskette, then type SETUP.
For example,
C:>A: or C:>B:
A:>SETUP or B:>SETUP
If you have a monochrome monitor, type:
A:>SETUP /mono or B:>SETUP /mono
The following command line options are available for quick launching of the
SETUP utility.
SETUP /bare : ULTRA 34FX controller card only package
SETUP /kit : ULTRA 34FX Kit package
SETUP /pro : ULTRA 34FX Pro package
The following device drivers have been modified to support different mapping
modes for each SCSI device connected to an ULTRA 34FA controller.
\DOS\USPI14.SYS : DOS ASPI device Manager.
\NETWARE\U14_31X.DSK : NetWare 3.1x device driver.
\OS2\ULTRA14.ADD : OS/2 Adapter Device Driver for IBM OS/2 2.x.
The following device drivers do not support different mapping mode on a single
controller. When using these device drivers, configure the ULTRA 34FA to have
the same mapping mode for all SCSI devices connected to the same controller.
The mapping mode options are limited to 16/63, 64/32 and 64/63, except for
SCO 3.2.4 BTLD driver, which supports all 6 mapping options for the ULTRA 34FA.
\U14_2X.DSK : NOVELL NetWare 2.2 device driver.
\OS2\DISK01.SYS : OS/2 ASPI device manager for IBM OS/2 v1.2, 1.3,
and MS OS/2 1.21.
\OS2\ULTRA14.BID : OS/2 LADDR Bus Interface Driver for MS OS/2 1.3.
\UNIX\14SCO324.Z : SCO UNIX 3.2.4 Boot Time Loadable Driver (BTLD).
\UNIX\14SVR42.Z : UNIX System V Release 4.2 device driver.
\UNIX\14SVR40.Z : UNIX System V Release 4.0 device driver.
