OS/2 drivers for Sound Blaster 12/10/94
The files in this zip file are as follows.
The SYS files were obtained from the Creative Labs board. Look at the
README file to determine which SYS to use for your board.
The SBCD2.ADD and OS2CDROM.DMD are--I am told--the OS/2 files for supporting
Sound Blaster CD ROM, and are the ones that came with the WARP beta. They
were replaced in the WARP that finally shipped. Unfortunately, according
to my informant, the new ones did not work, or work as well, as these
older ones from the beta.
The lines in my Config.sys file that have been working pretty well are:
device=sb16d2.sys 1 1 5 5 220 8 330 /n:sbaud1$
device=c:\os2\boot\os2cdrom.dmd /q
basedev=sbcd2.add /:220
I still have some problems (esp no sound in Microsoft's Art Gallery, and a
startup error about an audio string handler not loading). But my Grolier's
Encyclopedia is working fine! And I was able to install WARP using my
SB's CD-ROM!! A real labor saver.
I believe that these files are public domain--I received them for free in any
case.
I do not warrenty that they will work--but I am a happier camper than I was
before using them. Good luck! Alan Shilepsky 70744,1242
