  4.           Reveal SC400r4A Sound Card Device Driver version 1.00 
  5.           *** Support for IDE CD-ROM's Only in this version ***
  6.                          For OS/2 Warp 3.0

  8. note: check the main chip on your Reveal Sound Card.  If it does not say
  9. SC400r4A or 4A then this driver will not work for you.  Should there be any  
  10. question, please call Reveal Support.

  12. A.   Installation of Reveal SC400r4A  OS/2 Warp Device Driver
  13.      =================================================================        
  14.      
  15.      I. For Non-existence of other Audio Adapters 
  16.      --------------------------------------------
  17.  
  18.      In the process of installing OS/2 Warp with the sound card in the system,
  19.      the "Multimedia Device Support" under "System Configuration" screen will
  20.      display "Sound Blaster Pro (MCV or OPL3)". This has to be removed before 
  21.      installing the Reveal SC400r4A Sound Card device driver. Please follow the 
  22.      following steps : 
  23.      
  24.        0.  Skip steps 1 to 5 if OS/2 Warp has already been installed.
  25.    
  26.        1.  Click at the icon beside the "Multimedia Device Support" when the
  27.            "System Configuration" screen pops up during the installation
  28.            process.
  29.  
  30.        2.  Remove the Drivers from the "Device[s] in System to be install".
  31.  
  32.        3.  Select O.K. The [None] option will be shown at the "Multimedia 
  33.            Device Support".
  34.  
  35.        4.  Select O.K again and continue with the rest of the instruction to
  36.            complete the installation of OS/2 Warp.
  37.  
  38.        5.  Shut down and reboot the system after the installation is completed.
  39.  
  40.        6.  Select <Multimedia Application Install> from the Multimedia folder.
  41.      
  42.        7.  Insert Reveal SC400r4A OS/2 Warp Audio Driver Diskette in drive A: 
  43.            or B:. 
  44.      
  45.        8.  Change the source drive to where the Reveal SC400r4A OS/2 Warp      
  46.            Audio Driver diskette is.  (i.e. A:\ or B:\). 
  47.       
  48.        9.  Highlight "Sound Galaxy" feature and then select "Install".
  49.      
  50.        10. Select "YES" in "Change CONFIG.SYS" dialog box and continue with 
  51.            driver installation.
  52.      
  53.        11. Select "1" when the system prompts you to select the number of 
  54.            Sound Card.
  55.       
  56.        12. It is recommended that you use the default settings when the     
  57.            Sound Galaxy Sound Card Installation screen appears.  
  58.            
  59.        13. System will then update the CONFIG.SYS file, and please follow   
  60.            the on screen instructions to continue the installation.
  61.      
  62.        14. Shut down and reboot the system after installation is completed.

  65.        II. For existence of other Audio Adapters
  66.        -----------------------------------------
  67.  
  68.        If any Audio Device Driver is currently installed, it has to be removed
  69.        before installing the Reveal SC400r4A Sound Card Device Driver. Refer to 
  70.        the corresponding audio adapter manual or readme.txt for more details.
  71.  
  72.        For example, if Sound Blaster Pro device driver is installed, the
  73.        following lines must be removed from the respective files.

  87.        After all the previously loaded audio device driver has been removed 
  88.        and the system rebooted, follow steps 6 to 14 in Part I to install 
  89.        the Reveal SC400r4A Sound Card Device Driver.

  93. B.   De-installation of Reveal SC400r4A  OS/2 Warp Device Driver
  94.      ====================================================================

  96.      To de-install the Reveal SC400r4A Device Driver, the following lines
  97.      must be removed from the respective files.

  113. C.   Installation of Reveal SC400r4A  WIN-OS/2 Device Driver
  114.      ================================================================

  116.      Please note that any previously installed Windows sound card driver
  117.      has to be removed before installing the WIN-OS/2 driver.
  118.    
  119.        1. Open the WIN-OS/2 folder from the OS/2 SYSTEM COMMAND PROMPTS folder.
  120.  
  121.        2. Open the CONTROL PANEL from the WIN-OS/2 MAIN Group.
  122.  
  123.        3. Double click on the DRIVERS icon.
  124.  
  125.        4. Choose the "ADD" button to add a new driver.
  126.  
  127.        5. Highlight the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" item and then select the
  128.           "OK" button.
  129.  
  130.        6. Enter the drive and the path (i.e A:\WIN_OS2) in the Install 
  131.           Driver windows and then select "OK" button.
  132.  
  133.        7. Highlight the "16-bit Audio Driver" in the list windows and press
  134.           "Enter" to continue.
  135.  
  136.        8. Use the default setting in 16-bit Audio Board setup windows.
  137.  
  138.        9. Select "Restart Windows Now" to restart the Windows in order for
  139.           the added driver to take effect.

  142. Note : As WIN-OS/2 is not 100% compatible with Microsoft Windows Sound System,
  143.        there might be problems encountered when running Voyetra application
  144.        like Audiostation and MIDI Orchestrator in WIN-OS/2 platform. To play
  145.        WAV or MIDI files, please use MediaPlayer in WIN-OS/2 instead.
