PART 1: FIRST TIME OS/2 (2.1/2.11/3) INSTALLATION FROM DOLPHIN 8000AT

Key:
DISK 1 = "Diskette 1" if OS/2 (2.1/2.11) package is used.
= "Diskette for CD-ROM" if OS/2 3 WARP package is
used.
DISK 2 = A brand new 3.5inch-1.44MB formatted diskette.
I. PROCEDURAL STEPS
-------------------
1. Duplicate "DISK 1" into a newly formatted diskette and label
it "DISK 2";
2. Copy the Dolphin 8000AT CD-ROM driver file (DOLAT001.ADD)
into "DISK 2";
3. Add the statement below into the CONFIG.SYS file in "DISK 2":
BASEDEV=DOLAT001.ADD /P:XXX
where,
/P:XXX = XXX represents the CD-ROM drive
address port in three figures.
e.g. 320, 340 or 360 etc.
4. Switch off the PC power, connect up Dolphin 8000AT CD-ROM drive.
Make sure the hardware jumper setting for the port address is
correspond to the address port XXX in the statement mentioned
in 3.
5. Boot up the PC up using the OS/2 (2.1/2.11/3) installation booting
diskette. When the installation program requests for "DISK 1",
insert "DISK 2" instead. Then put in the OS/2 Installation CD-ROM
into Dolphin CD-ROM drive and press ENTER to continue to proceed
with OS/2 installation following the standard installation
instructions.
6. After OS/2 (2.1/2.11) is fully installed, copy the DOLAT001.ADD
into C:\OS2 directory (assuming that C drive is OS/2 booting
drive). For OS/2 3 WARP, the correct directory should be
C:\OS2\BOOT.
II. FURTHER CHECKING
--------------------
Make sure:-
1. The following files exist in the directory C:\OS2 for
OS/2 2.1/2.11 (assuming that C drive is OS/2 booting drive):
CDFS.IFS
OS2CDROM.DMD
DOLAT001.ADD
For OS/2 3 WARP, the correct directory should be C:\OS2\BOOT.
2. The following statements exist in C:\ (assuming that C drive is
OS/2 booting drive):
IFS=CDFS.IFS /Q
BASEDEV=OS2CDROM.DMD /Q
BASEDEV=DOLAT001.ADD /P:XXX
For OS/2 3 WARP, the correct statements should be:
IFS=C:\OS2\BOOT\CDFS.IFS /Q
DEVICE=C:\OS2\BOOT\OS2CDROM.DMD /Q
BASEDEV=DOLAT001.ADD /P:XXX
XXX = refer to STEP 3. above for proper value of XXX.
3. The address XXX must be the same as the hardware port setting on
the interface card. Refer to hardware manual for more hardware
setting info.
PART 2: INSTALLATION OF DOLPHIN 8000AT AFTER OS/2 (2.1/2.11/3) IS INSTALLED

I. PROCEDURAL STEPS
-------------------
1. Copy DOLAT001.ADD and DOLAT001.DDP into a blank diskette,
label the diskette "Dolphin 8000AT Install Disk" and insert into
floppy drive A or B;
2. Within PM, invoke OS/2's SYSTEM folder, then SYSTEM SETUP folder,
followed by executing DEVICE DRIVER INSTALL program to run
driver installation;
3. When the "OS/2 2.1 Device Driver Installation" dialog box pops up,
Select the correct Source directory, then click "Install..."
button;
4. When the "Select Device Drivers" dialog box pops up, select the
driver appear in the field by single clicking "Dolphin 8000AT
Non-SCSI CDROM Device Driver" and then click "OK" to proceed.
