INSTALLING IOMEGA OS/2 DRIVER FROM THE OS222.EXE FILE
Date: 9/24/93
Author: Jim Wilson, Rob Goodwin
File: OS222.ASC
1. Edit your existing OS/2 CONFIG.SYS file. Add the following line at the end of the file: DEVICE = [OS/2 boot drive letter:]\OAD\OS2.SYS
Example: DEVICE = C:\OAD\OS2.SYS
2. Create an OAD directory (MD \OAD) on the OS/2 boot drive.
3. Copy the OS222.EXE file to the OAD directory on your OS/2 boot drive.
4. Once the OS222.EXE file has been copied, type OS222 <enter>.
This file "self extracts" the files needed.
5. Determine which Iomega SCSI adapter you are using. You must then rename the appropriate *.OAD file to CONFIG.OAD. The files are listed below:
PC2x Adapter = rename PC2.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
PC4x Adapter = rename PC4.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
PPA Adapter = rename PPA.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
PC1600 = rename PC1600.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
PC800 = rename PC800.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
Adaptec 1520 = rename PC1600.OAD to CONFIG.OAD
6. Shutdown OS/2 and reboot.
7. Open an OS/2 full screen command prompt.
8. Type CD \OAD <enter>.
9. Type GENOAD <enter>.
10. Type <ESC> to get past the Help screen.
11. Select the option SCAN PHYSICAL CONNECTIONS.
12. After the scan is complete, type <ESC>.
You will then be asked to save the OAD changes. Select "Y".
13. When the next window appears, press <enter> to save as CONFIG. You will be prompted to say "Y" to overwrite existing CONFIG. Enter "Y".
14. Press <ESC> to exit GENOAD.
15. Shutdown OS/2 and reboot.
After this procedure is complete, the Iomega adapter and drive should be recognized properly.
