  7. Installation Procedure
  8. ======================

  10. The Sound Galaxy Win-OS/2 audio device driver installation is as follow.
  11.  
  12. 1 -  Open Win-OS/2 session from the COMMAND PROMPTS folder in OS/2 System
  13.      folder.
  14.  
  15. 2 -  Open the CONTROL PANEL's DRIVERS program from the WIN-OS/2 main.
  16.  
  17. 3 -  Select the "ADD" button to add a new driver.
  18.  
  19. 4 -  Highlight the "Unlisted or Updated Driver" item and then select
  20.      the "OK" button.
  21.  
  22. 5 -  Enter the Drive and the path (i.e. A:\OS2_WIN.211) in the Install
  23.      Driver Windows and then select "OK" button.
  24.  
  25. 6 -  Highlight the "16-bit Audio Driver" in the list window and press
  26.      ENTER to continue.
  27.  
  28. 7 -  If you are prompted that the required mm16c.drv driver is already
  29.      on the system, always choose to install a "NEW" driver.
  30.  
  31. 8 -  Use the default setting in 16 Audio Board Setup windows.
  32.      (DO NOT choose IRQ7)

  34. 9 -  Select Restart now to restart WIN-OS/2 session from the COMMAND 
  35.      PROMPTS folder.

  38. All installation instructions will be updated in SYSTEM.INI file under 
  39. item Clinton series sound card and [mm16]. You can also change or 
  40. create the new MIDI map using MIDI map icon in Control Panel.

  43. Troubleshoot Tips

  46. a) If you receive "16-bit Audio Driver Alert" and need to modify your 
  47.    system.ini for "device=*vdmad" statement:
  48.  
  49. ANS: You can't run the WIN-OS/2 session from "DOS Windows" or "OS/2
  50. Windows" session due to the limitation of the early versions OS/2 2.1. 
  51. The current version OS/2 For Windows 2.11 doesn't have this problem. 
  52. Please start WIN-OS/2 session from "Win-OS/2 Full Screen" in the Command
  53. Prompts folder.
