  8. What This Diskette Does
  9. -----------------------
  10. This diskette provides the audio driver for OS/2 users.
  11. The Audio Features Diskette enables or updates the audio function
  12. of the following ThinkPad computers:
  13.  
  14.    - ThinkPad 380, 380D, 380E, 380ED, 380XD, 380Z
  15.    - ThinkPad 385D, 385ED, 385XD
  16.    - ThinkPad 560X, 560Z
  17.    - ThinkPad 600, 600E
  18.    - ThinkPad 770, 770E, 770ED, 770X

  20. To determine if you have to update the audio driver or not, please refer
  21. to the "Summary of Changes" section.

  54. Installation Guide
  55. ------------------
  56.   1. Start OS/2.
  57.   2. Insert the ThinkPad Audio Features Diskette for OS/2 into the
  58.      diskette drive.
  59.   3. Open the OS/2 command prompt and type MINSTALL.  Then
  60.      press Enter.
  61.   4. Select A: for the source drive.
  62.   5. The installation program shows Crystal Audio(Pre-Selected), IBM
  63.      OPL-3 FM MIDI Synthsis(Pre-Selected).
  64.      from the list.  A check mark appears next to the selected items.
  65.   6. Click on Install; then follow the instructions on the screen.
  66.   7. When you have completed the installaion, restart the computer.

  68. Note:
  69.   Make sure you have selected Multimedia Software Support in the OS/2
  70.   Setup and Installation window when you installed OS/2. Make sure you
  71.   have not selected any audio hardware during the OS/2 installation;
  72.   otherwise, OS/2 might detect your audio hardware as SoundBlaster Pro
  73.   by mistake and install the device driver for SoundBlaster Pro into
  74.   your hard disk drive.

  76.   If you had error messages during OS/2 boot, you need to uninstall
  77.   multimedia software using the Selective Uninstall program.
  78.   When you reinstall the multimedia software supported by Selective
  79.   Install program, make sure to remove SoundBlaster Pro from the
  80.   Multimedia Device Support in the system configuration window.
