  1. OS/2 2.0 CE Infosys ADD Driver
  2.  
  3. Installation Procedures for SCSI controllers:
  4.  
  5.  C5640 (MCA), C5630B (AT Bus) and C5635B (AT Bus w/Floppy)
  6.  
  7. This serves as the manual for installing the CE Infosys ADD
  8. driver for use in attaching hard drives, removable hard drives 
  9. (Syquest/Bernoulli), and Magnetic Optical drives (Tahiti/Ricoh).
  10.  
  11. This installation is very, very simple and should take less than 5 minutes.
  12. It involves using a text editor to modify the computer's existing CONFIG.
  13. SYS file, (located in the C:\ directory) and adding the line BASEDEV=
  14. CEOS2.ADD and other optional parameters.  
  15.  
  16. INSTALLATION
  17.  
  18. This portion of the manual describes how you modify the CONFIG.SYS file 
  19. in your computer.   Before installation, you must know the I/O address of the
  20. SCSI controller, please refer to the manual for figuring out the I/O address used. 
  21.  
  22. Following is and example of how to install the driver by using the DOS program
  23. EDLIN, if you are familiar with another text editor, please use what you are 
  24. comfortable with, if not please follow the following steps.
  25.  
  26. Go into the DOS compatibility box by clicking on the DOS prompt icon.
  27.  
  28. (Ensure that the CEOS2.ADD driver is a the floppy disk.   Insert the disk in A:)
  29.  
  30. Type:   Copy A:CEOS2.ADD C:\OS2\*.*    
  31. Type:   C:
  32. Type:   CD\
  33. Type:   EDLIN CONFIG.SYS
  34. Type:   1i  ( that is the number 1 and the letter i )
  35. Type:   BASEDEV=CEOS2.ADD /A:0  (if I/O address is 320H)
  36.         or
  37.               BASEDEV=CEOS2.ADD /A:1  (if I/O address is 330H)
  38.         or
  39.               BASEDEV=CEOS2.ADD /A:2  (if I/O address is 340H)
  40.         or    
  41.               BASEDEV=CEOS2.ADD /A:3  (if I/O address is 350H)
  42. Type:   ^Z (or the F6 key)
  43. Type:   E (for END)
  44.  
  45. Exit the DOS compatibility box and select SHUTDOWN from OS/2's menu.
  46.  
  47. Once you have finished, you must reboot your computer in order for your
  48. changes to be inacted.  Press CTRL-ALT-DEL keys to reboot. During 
  49. rebooting, the driver will scan the SCSI bus, determine the attached
  50. drives and assign an appropriate drive letter.
