7. Modem Configuration Files
7.1 Overview
Modem Configuration Files are OS/2 text files which describe a particular
Modem. These files are maintained in the TalkThru SESSIONS directory
(usually named C:\TALKTHRU\SESSIONS) and have an extension of .MDM. The
information maintained in these files is specific to a particular modem
(i.e. HAYES 2400 Smartmodem). The information contained in these files
includes:
- The Command Strings used to communicate with the modem.
- The Response Strings sent from the modem to indicate success or error
conditions.
- The Error Text sent from the modem to indicate that a call has failed.
NOTE:
There is also a file called MODEMS.DAT which is installed with TalkThru
and contains all of the Modem Definitions shipped with TalkThru. But
since any Modem Definitions that you add or change are stored in .MDM
files, and since these files take precedence over the MODEM.DAT file,
you need only concern yourselves with the .MDM files.
7.2 Modifying Modem Configuration Files
The Modem Configuration dialog is used to Create and Modify Modem
Configuration Files. This dialog differs from release 1.03 of TalkThru and
