  174. What Is the Password Editor 
  175.  
  176. This utility program creates SOFTERM.PWD -- the file Softerm uses to provide 
  177. the optional security feature for Host Mode. 
  178.  
  179. Note:  If there are no existing password files, use the Record menu's Add 
  180. option to create an entry.  Then use the File menu's Save As option to create 
  181. the password file. 
  182.  
  183. Important:  If Host Mode finds the SOFTERM.PWD file, security processing 
  184. automatically is performed for each caller.  If you do not want any logon 
  185. processing, ensure that SOFTERM.PWD does not exist.  And remember, this can be 
  186. a hidden file.

  188. Security includes being able to limit the directories which can be accessed by 
  189. each user and restricting the commands each user can use in Host Mode.  For 
  190. additional information, please refer to the Host Mode and Script Files chapters 
  191. in the documentation.
