These Robocomm scripts will allow you make quasi PCBoard style
logons to the OS2 Shareware BBS at 703-385-4325. They should also
work with few, if any, modifications on Maximus style BBS's. For new
files scan to work you must also download DIR4ROB2.ZIP and place
DIR4ROBO.EXE into the robocomm directory.
Unzip all of the files in this Zip to the Robocomm directory.
The news bulletins are captured in a file called NEWS, this is
placed in your QWK packet if you download one. New files scan
results are also placed in the QWK packet. This allows you to view
your News and New Files from your Qwk mail reader. This procedure
assumes that you use ZIP for your QWK packets and that PKZIP can be
found in your path. If you do not just change PKZIP in OS2-QWK.RS to
the packer you use. As a side benefit of this procedure Pkzip will
set the date of the QWK packet to the current system time, Maximus
sets it to UCT aka GMT.
************************************************************************
These files are created and or overwritten if they exist in the
Robocomm directory.
NEWS, NEWFILES.DAT, NEWLIST.DAT and OS2SHARE.CAP
************************************************************************
************************************************************************
IMPORTANT
First Log on to the OS2 Shareware BBS and make sure you use the
BBS setup option to turn on Quick keys, also enable Expert Mode.
************************************************************************
The scripts are modular:- one to log on, one to scan for new files, one
to download the QWK packet, one to send replies, one to download new files
and one to log off.
OS2-ON.RS ........ Log on script
OS2-NEW.RS ........ Scan for new files and import to Robo directory
OS2-QWK.RS ........ Download QWK Packets and renumber old ones
OS2-REP.RS ........ Upload reply packets and renumber old ones
OS2-DOW.RS ........ Download 1 to 9 files
OS2-DOW2.RS........ Download 1 file per script, mark failed if unsuccessful
OS2-OFF.RS ........ Log off
OS2SHARE.QM ....... Qedit text macro to remove More [Y,n,=]? prompt
OS2SHARE.MAC....... Qedit compiled macro.
The above scripts should all be placed in the Robocomm directory.
Define the OS2 Shareware BBS to Robocomm. Tell Robocomm that System type
is Login Script Only and that Login Script 3 is OS2-ON.RS . Make
sure the name of the BBS ID is OS2SHARE.
This is what my Robocomm BBS Setup screen looks like:

Set up an Agenda item for The OS2 Shareware BBS. Use E for execute
script and fill out the BBS name or hit F10 and select, enter the
script name. Enter any parameters if prompted.
************************************************************************
IMPORTANT
Make sure the last script is always OS2-OFF.RS
************************************************************************
This is what my agenda for OS2SHARE looks like.
Call The OS2 Shareware BBS │
■ Execute Script "OS2-NEW.RS" (SMTWTFS)│
■ Execute Script "OS2-QWK.RS" (SMTWTFS)│
■ Execute Script "OS2-REP.RS" (SMTWTFS)│
■ Execute Script "OS2-OFF.RS" (SMTWTFS)│
To download files place OS2-DOW.RS or OS2-DOW2.RS before OS2-OFF.RS.
You have to use Shift-Tab to move it after setting it up with
Execute script.
The OS2-NEW.RS script can Optionally use QEDIT to remove the More [Y,n,=]?
prompt from the New files capture file. This sometimes causes
Dir4robo to miss one new file. You can also prevent the More prompt
by going to Maximus setup and turning this off. For this to work
Q.EXE (Qedit) must be in the Robocomm directory or the path. You
must also edit the script OS2-NEW.RS with a text editor and remove
the semi-colon from Column 1 of Line 51, or search for Qedit and
remove semi-colon from next line.
This should do it. If you experience any problems let me know or if you fix
it let me know. You can reach me by leaving a message in Local at the OS2
Shareware BBS.
Hope they work for you.
Robert Morrell.
