  20. KL-DIR is a utility to overcome the lack of automated directory listing
  21. requests in the cc:MAIL Mobile product. The only LOTUS supported method to get
  22. the initial directory listing to a Mobile user it to manually EXPORT the
  23. directory listing and then manually create a message to the user with the
  24. listing attached!! Insane, huh! I suspect you, like myself, are too busy to
  25. keep doing this repeative and manual process!! Well KL-DIR will do this for
  26. you! You set up an ID in your POST OFFICE for KL-DIR to use. Then users simply
  27. send messages to that ID and KL-DIR will respond with a directory listing.
  28. All you cc:MAIL administrators will be free to spend your valuable time on the
  29. tasks that matter! The Start minimized check box should be self explanatory,
  30. as well as the Enable Logs item. The status viewer will automatically clear
  31. itself just before each 201st cylce during it's current run. It is up to you
  32. to purge the LOG FILE periodically. You must place the included REXXVIM.DLL
  33. file in a directory that is listed in your OS/2 LIBPATH. You also need to
  34. have the OS/2 VIM interface loaded on the workstation that you run KL-DIR on.
  35. You can download the LOTUS VIM files from CIS and Lotus' BBS as VDLOS2.ZIP.
  36. Just place the files in your \OS2\DLL directory and you will NOT need to have
  37. cc:MAIL client installed!

  40. Configuration Options:
  41.  
  42. When you start KL-DIR for the first time on a system it should take you
  43. directly into the configuration screen. This data is very straight forward.
  44. You select the ADD button to add a PO/ID line that you then can directly
  45. edit by using the mouse to select the field then hold the ALT key while
  46. slecting foeld with Mouse button 1 (usually left button).
  47. The PO Path is the path from the system that KL-DIR is running on.
  48. The PO Name is the PO Name that KL-DIR will be a USER on and will check for
  49. mail. The PO Password is the password of the Post Office that KL-DIR will be
  50. using. KL-DIR cc:MAIL ID is the cc:MAIL Id that KL-DIR will be checking for
  51. messages. KL-DIR ID Password is the Password assigned to the ID on cc:MAIL that
  52. KL-DIR will be using. There is NO VALIDITY CHECKING DONE!! It is YOUR
  53. RESPONSIBILTY to make sure the information you provide on the configuration
  54. pages is of the proper lenghts and syntax for cc:MAIL. The Check Interval
  55. is the interval, in minutes, between when KL-DIR checks for messages. The
  56. maximum is 720 (12 Hours). If you want it to only check once a day let me know
  57. and I'll raise this. I suspect that most people will want this to check at
  58. least once an hour.
  59.     On the the EXPORT file and EXPORT Command fieldsare where uou set up 
  60. the EXACT command that will be issued to generate the Directory Listing. 
  61. The default entry should be fine for most users. The only change I would 
  62. make would be to add a FULL drive and path to the @CCMUPDAT.
  63. (i.e.  @M:\CCADMIN\CCMUPDAT) to be sure where the file will
  64. be placed. You then need to put the full drive and path into the EXPORT FILE
  65. field. This assures where CCMUPDAT will be placed and found!! I DO NOT hard
  66. code the EXPORT function to allow you to customize it for you environment.
  67. This allows you to export data in any way you desire for your users.
  68. The Export Command line has several variables you can use to save not having
  69. to make duplicate info here or possibly making a typo that:

  71. [PO-Name]  =  Post Office Name entry
  72. [PO-Path]  =  Post Office Path entry
  73. [PO-Password]  =  Post Office Password entry
  74. [EXPORT-File] = Filename entered for EXPORT File name
  75.  
  76. These variable are NOT case sensitive.

  78. The ability to configure multiple PO/ID combinations gives you the most
  79. flexibility. You can now have different ID's on a PO to process different
  80. directory requests. Or you can have the same ID reside on multiple POs so
  81. that each PO can get a precise listing as you tailor it! The EXPORT Command
  82. field is processed as you tailor it so you can use KL-DIR to synchronize
  83. PO listings and even IMPORT lisitings. It can be used to do remote administration
  84. by executing maintenance commands in a CMD file and haveing the output file
  85. be attached to the reply!! KL-DIR allows you to be extremely creative.

  93.     - Check Interval is FIXED at 120 regardless of what you set it to
  94.     - Maximum of 1 Directory requests processed per interval

  101. KL-DIR can be registered for $50.  The registration is also good for
  102. any other PHANTASM Software Commercial products. I will be releasing 
  103. several other cc:MAIL and LAN products over the next few months and 
  104. those products (commercial class) are a seperate line from
  105. my consumer oriented line (KL-ZIP, KLBENCH, Schedule-IT!)

  107. If you already have an ID for the consumer line it will be recognized
  108. as valid for the commercial line until 1/1/96.

  114. This software is shareware and may be used for 30 days after which you must
  115. stop using it unless you register it. Registration entitiles you to have only
  116. one copy of this program running at any time. You may install this software
  117. on as many systems as you like as long as only one copy is running!!
  118. Unlimited corporate licenses start as low as $500 for single release and
  119. $1000 for all future releases. Volume discounts for 5 or more copies are 
  120. negotiagted individually and start as low as $100.
