  1. ISDN Primary LAN Distance Server Enabler Install Steps

  4. <Primary Line Requirements>

  6. 23B+D
  7. Data only including restricted Digital 56Kbps
  8. Separate D channel for each ISDN Primary Line
  9. Base Q.931 Call Control support only
  10. Compatible with AT&T 5ESS. AT&T 4ESS and DMS100 call control support.

  12. Once you have a Primary line.
  13. The PRITEST in our install diskette can run under plain OS/2
  14. with our driver to test out if your PRIMARY line is OK.

  16. <Software Installation>
  17.  
  18. Please use either process A or process B based on your needs.
  19. A wrap connector on the Primary adapter without a real PRIMARY line
  20. can also be used to complete installation.
  21.  
  22. <It is assumed you have LAN Distance 1.1 and Lan Distance 1.1 CSD.>

  24. <A.Installation as a plain Connection Server>
  25.  
  26. It is recommended that the hard disk for install be formatted
  27. unless, the person installing the product is knowledgeable about
  28. the re-install and remove processes associated with currently
  29. installed applications.
  30.  
  31. 1) It is assumed that OS/2 Ver 2.1 or higher is installed
  32. and available on the PS/2 Model 95 server.
  33.  
  34. 2) Install the LAN Distance version 1.1 software
  35.      Insert the Server Diskette 1 into drive a: and type from the current
  36.      drive a:install.
  37.      You will be asked for the LAPS diskette (diskette 3) and then
  38.      diskettes Server 1 and Server 2.

  40.    Install Lan Distance 1.1 CSD as required
  41.  
  42. Shutdown..restart

  44.   LAN Distance configuration

  46.     Start LAN Distance
  47.      click on Selected..Open As..settings.

  49.     The following is a working set-up for a connection server

  51.     The following steps may be carried out with directions provided in
  52.     the LAN Distance Advanced Guide V1.1

  65.             LAN_0001...provide addresses if address based filtering done
  66.             Wan no 2 , hops 8
  67.             maximum address 3500
  68.             LAN Type IEEE 802.5
  69.             Let it Generate a LAN address

  71.     Answer..start ISDN all calls
  72.             click..change
  73.             ..Select-Enable answer mode on Startup

  81. 3) Install ISDN Primary Support
  82.      Insert the Primary Server Enable diskette in drive a:

  87.      Manually modify WCLNET.INI as per install document
  88.      Manually modify WCLLOCAL.INI as below

  97. Activate LAN Distance..It will take a few minutes

  99.      View ISDNPCML.CUR in the WAL subdirectory.
  100.      The last line should indicate SAPI/TEI 0/0 Established..card #n

  102. <B.Installation with CM/2 and 3270 emulation resident at server>
  103.

  109. 1) It is assumed that OS/2 Ver 2.1 or higher is installed

  112. 2) If you already have Communication Manager CM/2 ver 1.1 installed
  113. proceed to step 3.

  115. Install CM/2...Ignore LAPS install requirement,
  116.     Place Diskette 1 of CM/2 in drive and invoke the following command
  117.     Go to an OS/2 full screen
  118.           a:cmsetup
  119.     Proceed with Set-up and Configuration,
  120.     Configure for Token Ring, 3270 emulation

  124. 3)Install LAPS.... Use diskette 3 provided with
  125.   your Lan Distance software product.
  126.     Place LAPS Diskette in drive a: and invoke the following command
  127.     Go to an OS/2 full screen
  128.           a:laps

  130.     Configure LAPS
  131.       Select the adapter as
  132.          IBM Token Ring Adapter( or appropriate LAN adapter)
  133.  
  134.       Select the following protocols
  135.  
  136.         0- NETBIOS
  137.         0- IEEE802.2 (or appropriate Protocol)

  139. shutdown..restart
  140.  
  141.     Start Communications manager
  142.     Try a VM session and it should work at this point.
  143.     If not, make sure you have the correct version of software for
  144.     OS/2 and CM/2.  Otherwise contact our software support
  145.     as mentioned in the install documentation.

  147. 4) Install the LAN Distance version 1.1 software
  148.      Insert the Server Diskette 1 into drive a: and type from the current
  149.      drive a:install.
  150.      You will be asked for the LAPS diskette (diskette 3) and then
  151.      diskettes Server 1 and Server 2.
