ISDN Primary LAN Distance Server Enabler Install Steps
------------------------------------------------------
<Primary Line Requirements>
23B+D
Data only including restricted Digital 56Kbps
Separate D channel for each ISDN Primary Line
Base Q.931 Call Control support only
Compatible with AT&T 5ESS. AT&T 4ESS and DMS100 call control support.
Once you have a Primary line.
The PRITEST in our install diskette can run under plain OS/2
with our driver to test out if your PRIMARY line is OK.
<Software Installation>
Please use either process A or process B based on your needs.
A wrap connector on the Primary adapter without a real PRIMARY line
can also be used to complete installation.
<It is assumed you have LAN Distance 1.1 and Lan Distance 1.1 CSD.>
<A.Installation as a plain Connection Server>
It is recommended that the hard disk for install be formatted
unless, the person installing the product is knowledgeable about
the re-install and remove processes associated with currently
installed applications.
1) It is assumed that OS/2 Ver 2.1 or higher is installed
and available on the PS/2 Model 95 server.
2) Install the LAN Distance version 1.1 software
Insert the Server Diskette 1 into drive a: and type from the current
drive a:install.
You will be asked for the LAPS diskette (diskette 3) and then
diskettes Server 1 and Server 2.
Install Lan Distance 1.1 CSD as required
Shutdown..restart
LAN Distance configuration
Start LAN Distance
click on Selected..Open As..settings.
The following is a working set-up for a connection server
The following steps may be carried out with directions provided in
the LAN Distance Advanced Guide V1.1
Workstation..Define Name
Ports..N/A
Modems..N/A
Bridge..Configure Filtering..Values
Bridge no 1, maximum size 2052
LAN segment..525 (Dependent on your system)
hops..8(Dependent on your system)
Accept frames from specified source addresses only
LAN_0001...provide addresses if address based filtering done
Wan no 2 , hops 8
maximum address 3500
LAN Type IEEE 802.5
Let it Generate a LAN address
Answer..start ISDN all calls
click..change
..Select-Enable answer mode on Startup
Phone Book....ISDN
Timers
60000,10000,10000
shutdown..restart
3) Install ISDN Primary Support
Insert the Primary Server Enable diskette in drive a:
Go to an OS/2 full screen
type a:install.
Manually modify config.sys as per install document
Manually modify WCLNET.INI as per install document
Manually modify WCLLOCAL.INI as below

CXD = WCLDIAL.CXD
ISDNCHANNELS = 23 <--- add this statement
shutdown..restart
Activate LAN Distance..It will take a few minutes
View ISDNPCML.CUR in the WAL subdirectory.
The last line should indicate SAPI/TEI 0/0 Established..card #n
<B.Installation with CM/2 and 3270 emulation resident at server>
It is recommended that the hard disk for install be formatted

1) It is assumed that OS/2 Ver 2.1 or higher is installed
and available on the PS/2 Model 95 server.
2) If you already have Communication Manager CM/2 ver 1.1 installed
proceed to step 3.
Install CM/2...Ignore LAPS install requirement,
Place Diskette 1 of CM/2 in drive and invoke the following command
Go to an OS/2 full screen
a:cmsetup
Proceed with Set-up and Configuration,
Configure for Token Ring, 3270 emulation
shutdown..restart
3)Install LAPS.... Use diskette 3 provided with
your Lan Distance software product.
Place LAPS Diskette in drive a: and invoke the following command
Go to an OS/2 full screen
a:laps
Configure LAPS
Select the adapter as
IBM Token Ring Adapter( or appropriate LAN adapter)
Select the following protocols
0- NETBIOS
0- IEEE802.2 (or appropriate Protocol)
shutdown..restart
Start Communications manager
Try a VM session and it should work at this point.
If not, make sure you have the correct version of software for
OS/2 and CM/2. Otherwise contact our software support
as mentioned in the install documentation.
4) Install the LAN Distance version 1.1 software
Insert the Server Diskette 1 into drive a: and type from the current
drive a:install.
You will be asked for the LAPS diskette (diskette 3) and then
diskettes Server 1 and Server 2.
Install Lan Distance 1.1 CSD as required
Shutdown..restart
Start LAN Distance
click on Selected..Open As..settings.
