Introduction:
This product (HA52ZOC) will help to automate the process of converting
and merging a HyperAccess/5 ver. 3.x dialing directory entry into the
ZOC phonebook.
Since there is no way to Export the HA5 dialing directory to an ASCII
file, nor is there any documentation on the format of the HA5.CFG file,
therefore you must 'jump through some hoops' in order to get the HA/5
directory into a format we can use.
Instructions:
1. Take your printer off-line (for network, disconnect from the
network printer assigned to LPT1).
2. From within HA/5,
A. Choose Define, View, Basic
(If any of the phone numbers end with a little arrow,
you will need to edit that entry from within ZOC)
B. Choose Define, Print
3. Open the printer icon
4. Double-click on the icon for the print job
You should now be in the 'E' editor with the dialing directory
5. Select the menu item 'File'
6. Select the menu item 'Save As'
7. Select the directory where the 'HA52Zoc' program files are located
8. Enter 'HA5DIR.IN' in the filename entry field
9. Click on the 'Save' pushbutton
10. Close the 'E' editor
11. Delete the icon for the print job
12. Close the printer icon
13. Exit HA/5
14. Copy the file PhoneBk. from your ZOC directory into the directory
where 'HA52ZOC' program files are located.
15. From an OS/2 prompt:
A. Change to the directory where the 'HA52Zoc'
program files are located
B. Type 'HA5DIR' and press the [ENTER] key
16. In the ZOC directory, rename your PhoneBk. file to PhoneBk.Hld
17. Copy the file PhoneBk from the HA52ZOC directory into the ZOC
Directory
18. Start ZOC
19. You should now have all of the entries from your HA5 dialing
directory in ZOC
20. You will need to 'clean up' the entries (i.e.: if you have
separate dial strings of long distance/local dialing, you
will need to change you long distance #s to use the proper
dial string)
** NOTES **
If at any time you get a dialog box informing you of a
problem with the print process, select 'Retry' if you
not finished step 10, otherwise select 'Cancel' and
skip step 11.
If for some reason you PhoneBk is not correct after the
conversion, you can go to an OS/2 prompt, go to the ZOC
directory, delete the PhoneBk. file, and copy the
PhoneBk.Hld to PhoneBk. This will copy your original
phonebook back to the default.
If you have additions/bugs/comments/etc. please let me know.
