  1. Important notice to users, sysops and fileecho administrators:

  3. FREC, FSEND, FAXVIEW and T2T are absolutly FREE programs!
  4.  
  5.                                RESTRICTION

  7. All mentioned programs use from now on IMGPROC.DLL (TIFPROC.DLL is a part of
  8. MultiMedia in WARP 4.0).
  9.  
  10. TIF compression=5 (LZW) is under patent law and therefore not longer part of
  11. IMGPROC.DLL.
  12.  
  13. I have made a patent search, and the results are:

  16. Canada CA1223965
  17. Japan JP60116228 & JP07249996
  18. Germany DE3476617 & EP129439
  19. Italy, France and Great Britan EP129439
  20.  
  21. have adopted this patent as a national patent, but no other country in world.
  22.  
  23. So, the use of LZW is not allowed in countries, were the use is 
  24. under patent law!
  25.  
  26. Austria and Switzerland have no patent on LWZ at all!
  27.  
  28. There is no limitation in any way of distributing these programs!

  32. If you have gotten this package from elsewhere, DO NOT repack it!
  33.  
  34. If you upload this package to a mailbox or put it in a file echo, than keep
  35. in mind: further user have nearly no chance to get support from the autor
  36. because old and obsolate versions will circulate round the world, with no
  37. influence to reject or replace them!
  38.  
  39. I can not force YOU to support the program in cases YOU had uploaded it
  40. elsewhere, but in fact, I CAN NOT support such users of obsolate versions!

  42. The original package is in the form FAXnnn.LZH which contains FREC, FSEND,
  43. FAXVIEW and T2T.
  44.  
  45. The part 'nnn' is an incremental number, changing evertime FREC and/or FSEND
  46. have changes in version number.
  47.  
  48. Normaly, support from the autor can be assumed under the condition, the
  49. package was obtained directly from the autor (FIDO 2:310/14.59) or from a person
  50. who has gotten the package from the autor.
  51.  
  52. There is only limited support, if somebody has gotten the package from a
  53. mailbox or fileecho, because it may be possible, that these was an old,
  54. obsolate version!

  56. Because of the difficult kind of program, there will never be a
  57. 'final release'!
  58.  
  59. The mainpurpose of these fax programs is to satisfy the needs of the autor
  60. himself. But everyone can participate on these needs. Bugreports (only senseful
  61. if a LOG-file is enclosed) are wellcome and in fact the purpose for changing
  62. the version very rapid.
  63.  
  64. Version upgrades may take place twice or more the week or (in case there are
  65. no reports of bugs or no time to do the work) in longer intervals.
  66.  
  67. If you have detected a bug, please contact the autor, but take in mind, that
  68. your actuell version may be an OLD one and YOUR bug is already fixed!

  74. PS: The included FSEND.DLL is only useful if FREC is used as a fax pollserver.
  75. Calling mechanism of both DLL is under study and documented structures may
  76. be wrong or incomplete. Do not yet use any of this DLLs in your own 
  77. application. Both DLLs are concepted to be used in third parties programs,
  78. but contact the author for actuall details!!!!
