CARRIE R. LUST 0.73b1
---------------------------
NAME
clust - phone-cost tracking utility
SYNOPSIS
clust <chargesinfo-file>
DESCRIPTION
Carrie R. Lust is a highly configurable phone-cost tracking utility for
OS/2 in the tradition of Richard Papo's "MemSize" systemresources
monitor. By now it can show total connection time, number of units
passed, total costs, time left of current unit, length of a unit, time
left until limit reached, costs per unit, costs per minute, costs per
hour and time until next charge. You may let Carrie warn you after each
unit, when switching to another charge, when reaching certain costs, or
after a selectable time or number of units passed. The information of
all connections may be written to a user specified log-file.
INSTALLATION
If you've unzipped the archiv (which seems to be the case, since you are
reading this file ;-) and copied the files to some appropriate
directory, you're done. You may run "install.cmd" to create a WPS-object
for Carrie.
OPTIONS
If you do not give the name of a chargesinfo-file as a parameter, Carrie
will try to load the information from "charges.dat" in the current
directory. You may of course set this in the "Parameters" field in the
properties notebook of Carrie. Hint: Make copies of the WPS-object and
give each a different chargesinfo-file and an appropriate name, so you
just have to click on the appropriate object for the current day to
start Carrie with the right charges!
USING THE KEYBOARD
Here are the valid keys and what they do:
Alt+C Display configuration dialog.
Alt+A Display "About"-box
Alt+X Exit program
Alt+S or
Alt+G Stop/Continue the counter
Alt+R Reset the counter
MOUSE SUPPORT
Double click with left mousebutton in window hides/shows titlebar of
window. You may move the window by clicking into it with the left
mousebutton and moving it, while still holding the button down. You may
change the color and font used for the display simply by drag'n'drop
from the appropriate palettes.
FILES
clust.doc Carrie R. Lust-documentation in english.
The file you're reading at the moment.
clust.exe The program itself.
clust.ico Some nice icon, designed in hours of work.
file_id.diz Short program-description.
install.cmd REXX-command file to setup a workplace shell object.
clust.ini Some configuration-data. Created automaticly.
You may modify the following files as you need them to fit
your personal situation:
weekend.dat Chargesinfo for German Telekom, Weekend, City
charges.dat and
werktag.dat Chargesinfo for German Telekom, rest of the week, City
BUGS
This is only a BETA version of the program, and some things may still
not work as they should, although I think (well, hope ;-) there are no
big bugs.
TO DO
There are still *a lot* of things to be done, especially the handling of
the data files for the information about the different charges still
needs much additional work. NLS support (language and display of time &
currency), possibility to store all chargesinfo in one file with
different providers & zones, automatic "detection" of special dates,
possibility to change provider and zone from inside the program and a
better (INF) documentation are other things that will follow in the
future. If you have some other feature that you want to see included,
just let me know!
CREDITS
This program does not only bear some resemblance to, but also uses some
code (the routines for window-draging and hiding/showing the titlebar)
from Richard Papo's excellent "MemSize" systemressources monitor.
Thanks go also to Sascha Weber, for his wonderful beta-testing! :-)

STATUS OF PROGRAM
Carrie R. Lust is Freeware. Anyway, if you use the program I would be
happy if you send me some nice postcard (or other notification), telling
me what you think of it (ok, you hair-splitting guys, so it's actually
some kind of cardware ...). Even an e-mail with just "I use Carrie R.
Lust" in the subject would be enough ...
