  1. Read the terms and conditions of this license agreement carefully before using
  2. the software. If you for any reason, whatsoever, cannot accept the conditions
  3. in this agreement, you are not permitted to use BBBS.

  5. BBBS is a proprietary product of Kim Heino and Tapani T. Salmi, hereafter "the
  6. authors", protected by applicable copyright laws and international treaty
  7. provisions.
  8.  
  9. BBBS is not, nor has ever been, public domain or free software. You must
  10. register after the 30-day evaluation period. If you decide to use this
  11. software then you are under both legal and moral obligations to register it
  12. with the author. Registration entitles you continue using BBBS.

  14. The registered version of BBBS may not be duplicated for other than backup
  15. purposes. In a non registered version the user's timelimit is limited to 31
  16. minutes. That limitation is removed from the registered version.

  18. BBBS is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind or fitness for a
  19. particular purpose, either expressed or implied, all of which are hereby
  20. explicitly disclaimed. The authors only guarantees that BBBS will occupy disk
  21. space. The authors liability resulting from your use or inability to use BBBS
  22. is limited to the amount that the affected party has paid for it.

  24. There are two different licenses for BBBS: commercial and noncommercial. You
  25. may use noncommercial license only if your BBS is free for all users (new and
  26. old ones) and it is public for everybody to log in. You must use commercial
  27. license if you use BBBS in a company for inner or external mail or file
  28. transfer purposes, or you run a support BBS for a company or it's products. In
  29. short: if you get money from it then it's commercial.

  31. One license for BBBS is valid only in one system, which may contain one or
  32. more computers physically connected to each other all the time via LAN. You
  33. may not use one license in two physically separated systems, i.e. in two
  34. different offices of one company.

  36. Some BBBS versions are distributed with object code files. These objects may
  37. only be used to rebuild (link) BBBS executables, all other uses are strictly
  38. forbidden.

  40. There are two versions of BBBS, with and without RSA crypting. BBBS with RSA
  41. may not be imported/exported to/from some countries, especially the USA and
  42. France. Please check your local import/export laws first. The RSA library used
  43. is fully coded in Finland and it uses 256 bit keys.

  45. In the event that you are in violation of this license agreement you agree and
  46. accept that the authors may cancel your registration and any rights to use
  47. BBBS that you may have.

  51. The BBBS node license is divided in two; phone nodes and local nodes. A local
  52. node can not be used with modem or ISDN (or modem emulating driver), it can
  53. only be used for local/telnet/PIPE (LAN) connections. A phone node can be used
  54. for all purposes, including local/telnet/PIPE. The minimum is 2 phone nodes
  55. and 0 local nodes. See the table below for current prices in Finnish Marks
  56. (FIM), Euros (EUR) and US Dollars (USD):

  78. Upgrading the number of nodes or changing the license type will cost the
  79. difference * 1.1. For example if you want to upgrade from 2 phone node
  80. noncommercial license to 5 phone node noncommercial license the price in FIMs
  81. is (500-300)*1.1 = 220 FIM. Fill in new registeration form when you want to
  82. upgrade. When upgrading you can only increase your node amounts, you can not
  83. decrease them.
