The Zaphodyne MYCOMM Demo, Take II : 31 May 1990
An AVIO telecomm program for OS/2 Presentation Manager.
MYCOMM is My very own little PM COMM program which I wrote in one
very hectic week in the Spring of 1990. It features:
Pretty complete VT-100 emulation
ASCII file transfers (text capture / regurgitation)
PM Clipboard interface
multi-thread comm driver with a 32K buffer
PM menus, dialogs, etc.
and automatic profile save / restore.
It does NOT have:
Binary file transfers, such as XMODEM or KERMIT
any dialing facilities
scripts
Tektronix Graphics
Network Support (other than for files)
It _could_ grow these things very easily, which is part of why I'm
putting it up here (I have code for all of the above left over from
earlier projects). What do _YOU_ think? Is it worth upgrading this
thing to a full-blown Presentation Manager comm program? What features
would make it a worthy competitor in the OS/2 - PM comm sweepstakes. If
it had these features, how much would you pay for it? Should it be
shareware, or a real product, or am I wasting my time?
Well, THIS version is completely free - please distribute as widely
as possible, just see that this file goes with it.
*****
DIRECTIONS: just run MYCOMM from the command line or PM, and look
through the menus - it's pretty obvious

John D. Ruley
