  8.          For details of each command see VConfig Menu Commands

  10.                 Using the VCONFIG.EXE configuration utility, you can con-
  11.          figure the inner workings of VBBS just the way you want them.  It
  12.          DOES take some time to do this, but the end result is well worth
  13.          the time spent.  One nice feature of VBBS is that once you're
  14.          finished with the configuration, it provides diagnostics to help
  15.          you make sure all files and paths are correct.

  17.           -->  IMPORTANT NOTE:  MOST of the essential configurations are
  18.                                 properly set at default settings, meaning
  19.                                 they are set up for you already.  The fol-
  20.                                 lowing is the ONLY configuration actually
  21.                                 REQUIRED in most installations in order to
  22.                                 effect a first-time startup:
  23.  
  24.                                 In MAIN configuration:  BBS name, sysop
  25.                                 name/handle, system password.
  26.  
  27.                                 In CHANNEL configuration:  set channel 1
  28.                                to proper modem port and baud rate.
  29.  
  30.                It's easy to use VCONFIG at any time to do additional
  31.          setup and further configuration -- adding new message bases or
  32.          file areas, changing the limits on existing message bases, etc.

  34.          VCONFIG has 17 main functions available at its main menu:
