  112.         [VSB] VBBS Support Boards
  113.         ═════════════════════════
  114.         The [VSB] is a key support group composed of experienced VBBS
  115.         sysops you may count on to answer many of your questions about
  116.         VBBS.  These boards also serve as distribution sites for many
  117.         of the essential VBBS utilities.
  118.  
  119.         The [VSB] group is continually growing and qualified sysops are
  120.         invited to join.  The purpose of the [VSB] is:
  121.  
  122.         1) provide a channel for volunteers to officially participate in
  123.         the VBBS organization;
  124.         2) provide better general VBBS support at the local sysop level;
  125.         3) provide a distribution system for the essential VBBS utilities
  126.         to VBBS sysops;
  127.         4) provide volunteers who will actively upload the main VBBS
  128.            program to other major BBSes in their area.
  129.  
  130.         Please note that the [VSB] is specifically for VBBS support.
  131.         Virtualnet support is offered at the local level by the existing
  132.         VirtualNET administration.
  133.  
  134.         The idea behind the [VSB] stems from the fact that we get a lot of
  135.         hands extended by VBBS sysops who do want to help in some way, but
  136.         see no 'official' way to participate and get more involved in VBBS
  137.         administration. We hope that this fills that need.
  138.  
  139.         Below are some requirements for joining the [VSB] organization:
  140.  
  141.         1. Be a registered VBBS sysop and have a missionary attitude
  142.            toward VBBS;
  143.         2. Be VNet capable, and in operation for at least 90 days;
  144.         3. Possess more than an average willingness to help and
  145.            have a good general understanding of VBBS and bbsing;
  146.         4. Be accessible. (24 hr BBS, DIRECTmail enabled, sysop
  147.            downloads on first call, no ratios on these files)
  148.         5. Carry and make available the most current VBBS utilities
  149.            as prescribed by the VSB Coordinator on the [VSB]
  150.            Distribution Site menu;
  151.         6. Understand and be able to explain basic set-up procedures,
  152.            basic VBBS scripting, etc., to  new sysops;
  153.         7. Carry and participate in the VNET Technical Support Subs
  154.            as prescribed by the VSB Coordinator and the secured
  155.            [VSB] sub itself.
  156.         8. Be willing to FREQ the stipulated files and make the
  157.            necessary connects in a timely manner when advised by
  158.            the VSB Coordinator.
