  53.     You can compare the arealist to a commented directory listing of a file-
  54.     system where only the directories/folders are listed.
  55.     Two different items can be listed here:
  56.       [white]Area:[lightcyan]
  57.         An area contains a list of files which usually belong to a
  58.         certain topic. [cyan](in a filesystem this would be a directory which[lightcyan]
  59.         [cyan]contains only files, but no directories)[lightcyan]
  60.       [white]Group:[lightcyan]
  61.         A group (marked with [[SUB-DIR]) contains other areas and groups
  62.         which usually also belong to a certain topic. [cyan](in a filesystem[lightcyan]
  63.         [cyan]this would be a directory containing only sub-directories)[lightcyan]

  66.      When you are in the "root directory" (not in a [[SUB-DIR]) then the
  67.      Allfiles, Newfiles, Tagged and Find commands apply to really all files
  68.      the sysop lets access you.
  69.      But performing these commands globally can take quite a while if this
  70.      BBS has many files available.

  72.      If you are in a group (you selected a [[SUB-DIR] before). The commands
  73.      apply only to files which are in the areas of this group and in any
  74.      sub-group in this group.

  95.   A file-listing shows either the files of one area if you chose an area
  96.   with ENTER or the files of different areas if you issued one of the
  97.   commands in the arealist.

  119.              this area again.

  122.              in other areas)

  125.              If it is an archive (ZIP,ARJ,LZH) then the contents will be
  126.              listed and you can choose a file to view. If it is another
  127.              format (TXT, EXE, GIF ...) then its contents will be dumped to
  128.              the screen (not always useful). :-)

  131.              With line wrapping off, one file per line is displayed but you
  132.              occasionally have to move the display to the right if you want
  133.              to read the whole description.
  134.              When line wrapping is on then longer descriptions will be split
  135.              to multiple lines.

  141.   [yellow]What is "Doorway-Mode" ?[lightcyan]
  142.     The Doorway-Mode is an option which allows terminal-programs to send
  143.     extended keyboard codes over the line. It is identical with the
  144.     Avatar keyboard codes.
  145.     Most advanced terminal programs offer this option by using a hot-key.
  146.     This can be Alt+' or Shift+F1 or Scroll-Lock. Some programs that use
  147.     Scroll Lock need to be configured in their options to use it as doorway
  148.     toggle.

  151.     The name OffLine simply stands for the name of a little BBS near Hamburg
  152.     (in Europe, where these meatballs come from) where this program has been
  153.     created. It has nothing to do with offline use.
