  2.      Sentry v2.xx is NOT a drop-in upgrade for v1.xx.  The validator mode
  3.      returns different errorlevels and the [BBSNUMBER] file is no longer
  4.      used.  Please see section [3.3] of the docs for information on the
  5.      new method of new-user verification.

  7.      Also, the <-c> parameter is no longer used to specifiy a configuration
  8.      file, simply include the configuration filename on the command line.

  12.      a foolish boy's untested code modifying their userbases and

  21.      v2.00             Scrapped the v1.x style of validating users
  22.                          (flagfiles) in favour of direct-modification of the
  23.                          bbs userfile.  Removed keywords [BBSNUMBER] and 
  24.                          [OK_VALIDATION] and added keywords [LASTUSERBBS],
  25.                          [RESPONSEFILE], [PASSACCESS], [FAILACCESS],
  26.                          [UPGRADE], [DONOTUPGRADE].  Sentry 2.x will break
  27.                          the validation config of 1.x.
  28.                        Added [NOPHONECHANGE] and [NODATAPHONEUPDATE] for
  29.                          those who are picky about what numbers get modified.
  30.                        Now reads FrontDoor-style mailer logs as well as
  31.                          Binkley-style.
  32.                        Added [PHONEMASK] so that the phone number format can
  33.                          be user-defined.
  34.                        Added [NODE] for optional task number logging.
  35.                        Added [BBSLOG] for optional writing of the username
  36.                          and CID phone number to the BBS logfile.
  37.                        Fixed bug in supplying long command line parameters.
  38.                        Removed the <-c> parameter and added <-u>.
  39.                        There was no way to disable auto-password, a null
  40.                          [APW_KEYTOGGLE] now properly does that.
  41.                        Name will be written to the log if the CID data
  42.                          reports the account name.
  43.                        Fixed trap which occurs with corrupt userbase.
  44.                        Debug mode automatically switches to loglevel 5.
  45.                        Reduced US registration fee to $8 (there ya go,
  46.                          Gary).
  47.                        Updated BBS phone number and registration address

  50.      v1.20  Oct 18/96  Turns out that NONE of the DOS versions were working
  51.                          correctly, because of bad memory use and DOS not
  52.                          initializing variables like OS/2 does.  Fixed the
  53.                          subsequent "User Not Found" problem and added "Out
  54.                          of Memory" error messages.  Thanks to Phil Simpson.
  55.                        Fixed mess when COUNTRY_CODE and AREA_CODE are
  56.                          commented out.

  58.      v1.11  Jun 08/96  A BIT of ignorance (sorry), remember Jay, one's
  59.                          complement is ~ not !, a bunch of logic errors
  60.                          fixed.
  61.                        Corrected trap with with non-plural words (this one
  62.                          was nasty).
  63.                        linesfromend wasn't showing up in log properly; added
  64.                          linefeeds to validation log entry.

  68.                          running on a clunky 386 or 486 like me) and a
  69.                          whole bunch of other performance tweaks (no doubt
  70.                          introducing a bunch more bugs).

  72.                        As for the bugs, a change I made to the errorlevels
  73.                          were causing all private callers to be dumped, and
  74.                          SCID logfile was reporting "validated" on failed
  75.                          validations.

  78.                          will disable [AUTOPASSWORD]).
