  1. In general, Interbureau does not interfere with good, healthy
  2. competition between colonists (for instance, when they steal from each
  3. other and try to kill each other).  However, it does protect new
  4. colonists so that they have at least a few days to learn their way
  5. around.  This option allows you to adjust the length of Interbureau new
  6. player protection.

  8. Notes:  This option doesn't provide complete protection for new players
  9. -- they can't be attacked directly by other players (from this or other
  10. BBS'es), but they can still be harmed by deployed cybermutts and other
  11. hazards.  Furthermore, protection limits the options available to new
  12. players:  protected players can't attack other players, join interBBS
  13. attacks, or make trade deals.
