Rexx VBBS/2-M2Zmodem Interface

Introduction:
This is a set of rexx command files that will allow the VBBS
SysOp to install M2Zmodem.exe under a VBBS/2 system. M2Zmodem is an
OS/2 native Z, X, & Ymodem transfer protocol driver that rivals the
quality of DSZ for dos. One problem with M2Z though is the fact that
it does not support a DSZ style log file. VBBS uses this log file to
figure credit deductions, ratio calculations, CPS rates, & filenames
for logging purposes. What the enclosed MZmodem.cmd file does is
convert the log file that M2Zmodem produces into a dsz style log
file. (Don't expect to find the log file though, as it is deleted
after each transfer.)
Limitations:
I wanted to get this out as soon as possible to assist those
SysOps who are having probs with VXY.EXE/2 & 2400 baud callers.
Therefore zmodem (both batch & single file) is supported by this
release. In the next few days I will add X, Y, & YmodemG support.
Installation:
1.Copy the enclosed .cmd files to your main vbbs directory,
2.Edit the 3 lines (FIlein, Fileout and batchlist) near the top
of the m2zvbbs.cmd file to reflect your main VBBS directory
structure. The Comment lines at the top of the mzvbbs.cmd file
MUST remain as they are in order for it to work...
3.Get a copy of m2zmodem - I have it available at the Moonflower/2
as "M2Z213.ZIP". Phone # 509-891-6148.
4.Unzip M2Z213.ZIP & copy the following files to your VBBS directory:
M2Zmodem.exe & M2Zmodem.msg.
5.Make sure you always load VBBS/2 with the enclosed BBS.CMD
file like so:
bbs 1 (for node 1)
bbs 2 (for node 2)
etc...
The bbs.cmd file (Written By David Bell) sets the DSZ
environment variable that will make the whole thing work.
6.Call up Vconfig, Download config, & add the following protocol
line:
Batch: Key: Name: Command Line:
Yes Z (Or your choice) Zmodem m2zvbbs.CMD %8 -ZS %3
That's it! It should now work. If not email me & I will try to help.
Also, feedback is welcome!
SEE YA/2!
