Q: How do I transfer files between me and my host?
A: You will want to get a hold of FX-UUCICO, or alternately
a copy of Waffle's UUCICO program. FX 0.40 or greater is prefered,
as it has excellent documentation, and is a _much_ smaller package
compared to grabbing the entire Waffle archives.
You may actually use any UUCICO type package that is filename compatible
with Waffle's UUCICO (that is, using Waffle's name munging scheme).
Anyone wishing to use a non-compatible UUCICO agent, and willing to
write the code to translate the names to something compatible,
should email me for code that will provide the name for you.
Q: How can I get FX-UUCICO?
A few ways..
Fidonet file request: FX*.* from 1:203/7707 or from 1:203/8055
Internet FTP: ftp.netcom.com:/pub/jfesler/fxuucico/*
This is from one of the documents in the FX archive:
>March 1994 FX UUCICO Version 0.4 beta
>
> FX UUCICO is an enhanced replacement for WAFFLE UUCICO. It's full
> compatible with WAFFLE. Shorter and faster, still has exciting new
> features already available in this beta release, and many more are
> on the way.
>
> FX UUCICO may also be used in all packages that support Waffle's one.
>
> The documentation have been vastly expanded covering virtually all
> aspects of FX Uucico. Besides the main user manual, WHATSNEW lists
> the new items from previous versions, STATIC.REF is a full reference
> for all available configuration options, and the tech guide discuss
> advanced topics.
>
> Additional notes and programs are available from our server. We have
> an operational server accessible by email or ftp. We also have an open
> mailing list for all topics related to FX Uucico and FX Uucp. See the
> section on 'Assistance' in the main documentation file for complete
> info on the servers. We encourage you to participate in fx-list, FX's
> public mailing list.
>
> FX files may be obtained in two ways: via email or by anonymous ftp.
> Email file requests should be sent to fx-dist@dogear.spk.wa.us. In
> the body of the message, issue the command 'get index' for a list of
> available files. To get files via Internet, ftp to tau-ceti.isc-br.com
> and log in as ftp _or_ anonymous. Supply your full email address when
> asked for a password. ex: fxuser@somesite.com. The files are located in
> /pub/fx. See 00-index for a brief file description.

> All testing have been done with WAFFLE 1.65 (DOS version) only!.
