Release notes
=============
(* = fixed bug, + = new feature, # = change, - = eliminated)
Version 1.24.1:
* Missing line break between tearline and origin line
Version 1.24:
* When changing the size of the message list it sometimes was redrawn
incorrectly.
# Open source version. All registration-related features were removed.
Version 1.23:
* During Find operation the results window could be closed, leading to
strange behaviour.
* Trying to delete a message in a corrupted message area could cause
FleetStreet to crash.
+ In Fastecho's configuration file, environment variables in path names are
supported.
# Up to 100 addresses possible
Version 1.22:
* Possibly wrong arrival date displayed in message list for self-written
messages in JAM areas.
* Possible confusion when switching between monospaced and proportional
font while a message with NPD flag was displayed.
# A four-digit year is inserted for %D template token.
* NPD attribute was not stored in JAM areas.
* INTL kludge may have appeared twice in MSG netmail areas.
* Kludge lines in *.MSG files longer than 2KB may have caused a lockup.
Version 1.21:
* ShotgunBBS support DLL was missing
* Grunged dates in *.MSG and Squish areas
* *.DTP file remained open after closing the nodelist browser.
* First line in carbon copy entries was too short.
* Problem with INTL kludge not changed on reply.
* Entry field for "first line" in carbon copy list entries were missing in
non-german language versions.
# Inserted space between file name and password in non-direct file requests.
The missing space was a workaround for some broken tossers which otherwise
would treat the password as the next file name. Now I think there was
enough time to fix these tossers.
If you're using a Binkley-style outbound, I still recommend using the
"direct" option for file requests.
* Current thread was not expanded in the thread list when compact view was
used.
# Removed all minor pages from notebooks.
# Monospaced setting is kept when switching between reading and writing; can
now be changed when writing.
+ Support for NPD (Non-Proportional Display) flag. When message contains this
flag, the display is temporarily switched to monospaced.
* When replying from echo area to netmail area, the Rexx variable
FleetMsg.Header.ToAddress contained 0:0/0.0 instead of real destination
address.
* Display update caused by Rexx function FSSetHeader was incorrect.
* Calling FSSetText before completion of template processing may have caused
lockup.
# Frame is printed around header again when using Warp 4. With the old method,
Warp 4 refuses to print the previous frame. This obviously is a bug in the
GPI that's still not fixed with FP #4. The new method prints a slightly
uglier frame.
Version 1.20:
# Little change in JAM support.
* Import to carbon copy list failed for lines having trailing whitespace
* Read messages in thread list were painted black
+ Support for Shotgun BBS. Thanks to August Abolins for his assistance.
* "Print" menu item was not disabled when editing
+ Supports V7+ nodelists (partially). Use FastLst to generate such nodelists.
+ You can now specify a "first line" in carbon copy list entries.
* Wrong template name was displayed in area settings notebook.
* ENTER key was ignored when list box in request dialog had focus.
# Changed focus chain in request dialog
* *.JAM files were not written when changing message.
Version 1.19:
* Crash after using the context menu in the threadlist.
* It was possible to move the rightmost separator in the message list too far
to the left.
* Double areas in echo manager.
* Area list title was not refreshed when folder was renamed.
+ Support for IMail 1.85 (Beta!)
# "Scan all areas" in the area list context menu now really scans all areas.
* Extension DLL was not called if echo was added and rescanned at the same time.
* Folders of areas were lost if the tosser configuration was re-read in the
setup.
+ Support for NewsWave 0.99.5 (including mailing lists)
* Message list was closed if FleetStreet was busy and DEL was pressed.
# Folder of target area for Copy, Move or Forward is opened automatically.
* Some nodes were not found in V7 nodelists.
* Copied and moved messages had wrong CHRS kludge line.
+ Displays MO flag for V7 nodelist entries. This non-standard flag must be
explicitly set by the nodelist compiler. For FastLst, you can accomplish
this with the following entry in FASTLST.CFG:
FlagDef
MO D
End
* *.MSG areas in root directories (e.g. D:\) were not handled correctly.
* "Deleted" attribute was not displayed correctly
Version 1.18:

Squish areas in the User's Guide!

Message", "Forward message", "Copy", "Cut", "Paste", "Shell", "Scripts folder",
"Nodelist browser", "Request", "Catchup"

- Eliminated "included/excluded" flag for areas
+ Introduced area folders. See User's Guide for details.
# Read personal messages are now displayed with the "normal" color in the
thread list.
# The echo manager now allows to link and rescan an echo at the same time.
# CTRL-TAB and ALT-TAB are now ignored by the editor.
+ Added timestamps to message list.

* Incorrect address matching when entering point number only (e.g. ".3")
+ The "Logo" system setting is used
# New notebooks with Merlin

# Ensured that tosser configuration DLLs are always loaded from the startup
directory.
# Workaround for OS/2 bug: FS might crash if the default print job properties
are not yet set.
# Made generation of FWDSUBJ optional.
# Workaround for 16-Bit-Limit in OS/2: Using the Edit/Copy menu at the end of
messages >64K didn't work (nothing was copied to the clipboard).
* In the threadlist's compact view, the top level entry was not removed when
all threads of that entry were deleted.
# FleetStreet replies to the forwarder by default.
* When moving or copying messages from the message list, thread list or
bookmarks list, the current area was always preselected.

See User's Guide for details.
* Empty user name when using the Squish tosser.
* Possible crash after starting FS (sounds vague? Well, the bug is more
difficult to explain than to fix).
* Incorrect error message when switching tossers.
* Kludge lines with no space between kludge name and contents (esp. @AREA)
were not recognized.
# Refined highlighting algorithm
* Printed with incorrect code page
- NewWave (the VIO version) is no longer supported
+ Support for NewsWave PM 0.99

bug.

Thank you IBM for these crappy APIs!

* Secondary windows didn't handle individual (non-system-wide) border widths.

+ Support for "Include" statement in SQUISH.CFG. Now also supports ParToss.
* Nickname dialog was closed after using the "?" button.
* Echo manager crashing when having a lot of areas.
* Hang when copying messages from the thread list.
* Possible redraw problems in message list of large areas.
# Read all AKAs from FMAIL.CFG.
* Fixed problems with strange characters in nodelists.

DLLs can be found there!
* FleetCom was not properly linked, causing SYS0192.
# The progress indicator is now displayed in the status line. You can stop the
background processing by pressing ESC or by double clicking on the progress
indicator.
+ The area scan can be stopped by pressing ESC.
# Another workaround for IMail 1.75's bugs.
# All attributes can be selected for a nickname.
# All attributes can be selected for an area.
# The script folder is sorted alphabetically
* Removed 32000 line limit for file lists.
