  1. Welcome to Fiction Factory!  This door is a friendly place
  2. for you to collaborate with other users to create stories.
  3.  
  4. Navigating Fiction Factory is easy once you get the hang of
  5. it:  your choices are almost always listed on menus.  You
  6. can select from the menus by typing the highlighted letter
  7. of the option you want to choose.  You can also use the
  8. arrow keys to move the cursor up and down and then hit
  9. the {Enter} key when you've highlighted the option you want.
  10. If you're using a RIP terminal, you can also click on the
  11. button you want with your mouse.

  13. The best way to get started in Fiction Factory is to read
  14. entries created by other people.  If any stories get your
  15. imagination in high gear, pick up where the previous writers
  16. left off and add your own contribution!  If not, start a
  17. story yourself and get the action rolling.  Don't worry if
  18. you don't sound like Shakespeare:  the point is to be
  19. imaginative and have fun.

  21. Several "hot keys" will work at just about any time while
  22. you are in Fiction Factory.

  24. Ctrl-Z   Brings up help.  As much as possible, FictFact will
  25.          tailor the help it provides to what you're doing
  26.          at the time, so if you're confused, give it a try!
  27.  
  28. Ctrl-O   Lists the people (if any) who are in the game on
  29.          other nodes.  You may want to send those people
  30.          messages, to chat with them, or to work on a story
  31.          together so that you can take turns adding to the tale.
  32.  
  33. Ctrl-E   Allows you to enter a one-line message to a user on
  34.          another node.
  35.  
  36. Ctrl-T   Allows you to enter chat mode.  From there, you can
  37.          /PAGE people on other nodes to chat with you.
