Other CDSOFT Products
---------------------
All CDSOFT products can be obtained at the author's web site at
http://www.steelcity.net/~lotl2. You should also be able to find them at
any high quality Renegade BBS. (Hey, I can hope, can't I?)
CDRMail
-------
CDRMail is the ultimate mail processing utility for Renegade! It
completely replaces the need for Renemail, as well as adding several
features that no other program for Renegade has! These include:
- Capable of importing messages, purging them, and scaning new
messages out in *ONE* pass.
- Reply links messages on the fly.
- Allows easy *Global* editing of your message base configuration.
- Has completely configurable inbound message filtering.
- Has a built in message base packer that can pack specific bases.
- Configurable random tagline adder to exported messages.
- "Smart" tossing of 1.MSG.
- Converts non-Renegade colour codes on the fly.
- Expands tabs to spaces on the fly.
- Creates summary of echomail activity on each run.
- Supports all versions of Renegade from 10-05-94 on.
- Optional logging of all activities to a log file of your specification.
- Full netmail support, including kludge line support.
- JAM <-> .MSG conversion ready for the next Renegade.
- *LOTS* of Netmail options.
- Direct support for GEcho.
- Does not garble echomail ANSI's.
- Fully FidoNet Technical Specification (FTSC) compliant.
CDRGCV
------
CDRGCV creates from your Renegade v98-101 the datafiles for Renegade
10-05-94 utilities to run properly. This allows you to use most of those
utilities that were never upgraded when the structures for Renegade
changed!
CDRGFFIX
--------
CDRGFFIX creates a new EXTENDED.DAT based upon the information found in
your filebases.
When you remove a file from a filebase, the extended description of
that file remains in your EXTENDED.DAT. CDRGFFIX scans through your file
bases and creates a new EXTENDED.DAT based upon the CURRENT extended
descriptions. In a sense, CDRGFFIX defragments your EXTENDED.DAT.
While CDRGFFIX "defrags" your EXTENDED.DAT, it also sorts your
filebases very quickly and very efficiently.
CDRUPACK
--------
CDRUPACK is a very fast very configurable USERS.DAT packer for Renegade
BBS systems. It can pack your USERS.DAT by DSL, SL, how many times they
have not called, how long it has been since they called, by specific user
number, a range of user numbers, and/or just those that have been deleted!
It also logs *EVERYTHING* that it does, so that if something goes wrong
you can see exactly what occured so you can fix anything that needs fixed.
FDBATCH
-------
FDBATCH quickly generates the basic batch files needed to run Renegade
from FrontDoor or InterMail, including support for a BRE League. You can
then easily customize the batch files for your purposes without worrying
about the basics.
GEMC
----
GEMC keeps track of how many messages your GEcho echomail processor
imported for your system on a daily basis and produces a text file suitable
for a bulletin on your BBS.
NMMSGFIX
--------
Ever wonder why you get Netmail messages with strange zone and/or point
addresses? NMMSGFIX fixes that.
-The Problem-
Fido specifications for the .PKT header do NOT have the "to zone", "from
zone", "to point", and "from point" address in them. Fido specifications
for the .MSG header have them listed as optional. Which means if someone
packs up a .MSG into a .PKT (and presumably archived), the zone and point
information is lost. If they send the .MSG directly to you, it may or may
not be in there, depending on what software you use. Some applications use
it, some applications drop it.
Fido specifications use the kludge lines INTL, TOPT, and FMPT to "fix"
this.
Thing is, not all applications support these kludge lines. They _should_,
do to be FTSC "compliant". But not all do.
-The Solution-
Use NMMSGFIX to fix the messages. It'll scan your Netmail messages and
correct the addresses based upon the kludge line(s) in the message.
RGNSHOW
-------
The purpose of RGNSHOW is to allow multi-node systems to show on the node
activity list in Renegade exactly what is going on in the background.
Common uses are "Mail Tossing", "Nightly Maintenance", and "Packing Mail".
But these are just examples. You can make it read whatever you want.
RGNSHOW is also commonly used to update the user activity for a user
playing a door game. RGNSHOW can show on the node activity list exactly
what the user is doing (via your parameters) without you passing all the
information for that particular user to RGNSHOW. All you have to do is
give RGNSHOW a node #, the path to your RENEGADE.DAT, and it will do the
rest. :)
The activity is listed in the Activity field in the node listing.
