  4.       Dear Fellow Sysops,

  6.         Thank you very much for taking the time to evaluate and use
  7.         ALLFIX. We have done our best to make sure that this release
  8.         version will not dissapoint you!
  9.  
  10.         This particular release is a maintenance release for version
  11.         1.10. Version 1.10 contains a large number of new features.
  12.         Please take the time to look at the UPDATE.LOG file for a
  13.         full list of everything that has happend to ALLFIX since
  14.         the last official release!
  15.  
  16.         One of the new features that you may be interested in is the
  17.         built in request processor! Now ALLFIX can handle all of your
  18.         file requests!
  19.  
  20.         One of the problems that this maintenance release solves is the
  21.         problem with the keyfiles. Please make sure to delete all of the
  22.         keyfiles before you install this version of ALLFIX. The archive
  23.         contains a new keyfile and that should be the only keyfile that
  24.         is located in your ALLFIX directory!

  28.       │ How install ALLFIX/2 v1.11 from the installation diskette:

  31.         Put the diskette in drive A

  33.         type A:\INSTALL
  34.  
  35.         The install program will offer you the option of updating a
  36.         previously installed version of ALLFIX or installing a new
  37.         version on your harddisk. Please read the update notes later
  38.         in this document.

  42.       │ How to install ALLFIX/2 v1.11 from the distribution archive:

  45.         If you are installing this package from the archive distributed
  46.         via the BBS systems then type:

  48.         PKUNZIP -sFINALLY ALLFIX.111

  50.         * note: You must use PKUNZIP version 2.04 or later.

  54.       │ Updating from a previous version of ALLFIX
  55.  
  56.         Please make sure to delete all older key files (.S2S files).
  57.  
  58.         Those of you who are updating from a version prior to 1.10
  59.         build 5 should follow the following steps to update your
  60.         configuration:

  62.         1. Make a backup of your ALLFIX directory.
  63.         2. Run ALLFIX Bill.
  64.         3. Delete the STATFILE.* files.
  65.         4. Run ALLFIX Announce.
  66.         5. Run UPDATE to update your Magic filename configuration,
  67.            Hatch manager configuration, and your FileFind message area
  68.               configuration.
  69.         6. Run ASETUP Index.
  70.         7. Run FCOMP.

  72.         Those of you who are updating from version 1.10 build 14 should
  73.         follow the following steps:

  75.         1. Make a backup of your ALLFIX directory.
  76.         2. Run UPDATE to update your FileFind message area configuration.
  77.         3. Run ASETUP Index.
  78.         4. Run FCOMP.
  79.  
  80.         Version 1.10 and higher uses template files for all new file
  81.         reports and AreaMgr messages. If you are updating from the ALLFIX
  82.         for Dos version 4.20, then it is important that a special
  83.         directory be made for these template files. Please configure a
  84.         directory in ASETUP and unzip the TEMPLATE.ZIP archive into that
  85.         directory. This is automatically done by the install program.

  92.         We have many many new features planned for future releases of
  93.         ALLFIX. It would be impossible to mention them all. However,
  94.         just to give you an idea of what we have planned, we will mention
  95.         one of our ideas. We are planning on adding extra support for
  96.         internet gateway programs to make it easier for you to integrate
  97.         ALLFIX with the Internet! Soon, ALLFIX will make it a piece of
  98.         cake for you to distribute your software via the Internet!
