---- 1.99 notes
oops. some rather serious problems with 1.98
changed the "macro" keyword to "function" to avoid conflict with binkley.
---- 1.98 notes
READ THE MANUAL! Keystroke macros are now supported, on the fly
redefinition coming soon.
fixed bunches of little nits, now accepts british
(mis?)spellings. Also fixed the privileged flag (finally!),
other stuff.
reorganized manual a bit, updated and corrected it.
---- 1.97 notes
READ THE MANUAL! screen attribute has been changed entirely... your old
color settings WILL NOT WORK!!!!
the quote string is expanded for usenet quotes
bug fixed in reading the areas.bbs origin line
domain names are no longer lower-cased.
---- 1.96 notes
when using usenet style quotes and quoting a UFGATEd message, the attribution
line is taken from the usenet header information, not the fidonet stuff.
fixed the problem with interzone forwarding.
added more info in the docs about keyboard redefine and quoting
added <cr> as next message in the default keyboard assignments
fixed the attribution line in usenet quotes
---- 1.95 notes
block commands work!
the keyboard is redefinable
more editor commands
message gating is now optional
usenet style quoting now the default
paste buffer is permanent... including across messages
read the docs for more!
---- 1.94 notes
thanks to vince perriello, video fossil support has been added
to the large version of msged.
added the ability to assign defaults to the private, crash, hold
and kill/sent message attributes.
fixed the bug that locks the system when displaying messages with no text
msged194.big is now compiled using msc 5.1.. msged194.arc
remains in zortech c 1.07
---- 1.93 notes
complete documentation rewrite! should be better structured and answer
more of your questions.
note: the docs say that the paste buffer remains after you paste
something in... this is not true currently, it will be in the
next release.
<alt><v> now toggles hidden lines. it will turn seen-bys on
but not off.
you can now select items in the settings screen by pressing the
highlighted letter.
bad message handling has been improved.
the areas search bug has been fixed!
page up and down now work in areas list and message list
the internal help screen is not yet up to date... see msged.ref
---- 1.92 notes
support for a tsr help system has been added. the
configuration item "flashhelp" controls whether or not it is loaded.
<alt><h> will call it up.
---- 1.91 notes
<alt><h> no longer shows hidden lines... use the settings screen to
toggle show notes on and off. <alt><h> will be tied to the help system
within the next release or two...
<alt><l> (list) display has been cleaned up
entering a message into an empty area works correctly...
the hold bit setting is now displayed
---- 1.90 notes
1) <alt><l> will list all messages in an area with header
info... play with it. press return to select a message, esc
to exit back to the message you were at.
2) <alt><s> will bring up a settings menu. you can change all
sorts of stuff here. press space when on the field you want
to change, string and numeric fields are edited like normal,
switches toggle when you press space. esc aborts without making
changes, enter makes changes effective for remainder of session.
3) softcr has been added to the config keyword list. it lets
you tell msged to add a soft return to the end of wrapped lines.
4) origin line handling is improved. an origin keyword has been
added to the config file. also, if using a binkley.cfg, the
system line will be used as an origin line if nothing else is
available.. and if that's not there, the user's name will be
used.
5) areas.bbs is no longer required. it will be used if present
however, so if you don't want msged pulling areas out of it,
change the name to something like areas1.bbs.
6) if a config file is in the current directory, the other
directories will not be searched (BINKLEY, OPUS, SEADOG and BBS).
7) you can specify config file names on the command line, i.e.:
msged configfile areasfile
they must be in that order.
8) for the brave only! rudimentary block commands have been
implemented, <alt><a> will anchor a block and <alt><c> will cut
it out. <alt><p> will paste it back once! (i'm going to fix
that..). these are probably horribly buggy and dangerous, so
they aren't in the regular docs... use at your own risk!
i think that's it....
