  6. The files that should be in this archive are (2.1a release):

  8. msged(p).exe     Msgedsq!
  9. msgedsq.doc      Doccumentation
  10. history.doc      History of mods for this verison.
  11. keycode(p).exe   Gives you the keycodes for keys
  12. msged.cfg        Sample config file
  13. areas.bbs        Sample areas.bbs file
  14. rhelp.hlp        Reader Help file
  15. ehelp.hlp        Editor Help file
  16. readme           Readme file (this one)
  17. whats.new        Blurb on new features

  19. If you didn't get all these then you should attemp a version that has all these
  20. files (you don't know where it's been :).  If you find things don't work the
  21. way you expect, please rftm; some things have changed.  You SHOULD use the
  22. distributed cfg file - quite a few things are slighlty different from versions
  23. earlier than 2.1 (which this is primarily a bug-fix of).

  25. When reporting bugs, please state the version you are using. The version is
  26. displayed on the first screen when msgedsq is fired up.  If you're using a
  27. beta version (one with a trailing "b"), don't expect much help unless you're
  28. on the beta team (who aren't really a team, but know who they are :-).  Tho
  29. bug reports are always "welcome" (;-), please ensure you have the latest
  30. version.  Btw.  Note my new fido address.

  33. Known Bug Alert!:   Do not enter/foward/copy etc. any message in an area
  34.                     where the path is incorrect - it will crash.  If the
  35.                     path is correct but the squish files don't exist, they
  36.                     will be created.  This only applies to cases where the
  37.                     path is definetley out/wrong.  This hasn't been fixed
  38.                     because it requires quite a few fixes.  Only seems to
  39.                     happen in squish areas.

  42. Doccumentation has been updated for 2.1a's newer features (or most of them),
  43. please read the notes in the history.doc if you want to see the details.
  44. (recommended - you only have to look at the stuff relevant to this version).

  46. OS/2 people:  This needs the msgapi.dll that comes with the Maximums CBCS 
  47. distribution or the SquishMail distribution.  It should work with both
  48. versions of the DLL (the v2 and v2wb releases of Maximus).

  50. Once you're finished, all you need for operation is the msged.exe and
  51. msged.cfg -- all the rest can be chucked away.  The help files will not
  52. be used if they are not present.

  73. Yup, the've been released, tho I have only sent them to Colin Wheat (above
  74. address).  It compiles under MSC and Borland products;  others I don't know
  75. about.  The file is called:
