  19.   - Some words about this demo
  20.  
  21.     Weird...here is another production of DemaniacS. This demo was
  22.     almost finished and competed at the Gardening'96 demo compo and
  23.     won the 2nd place. At first it wouldn't run smoothly at the party
  24.     compo machine because of the projector's hardware that lowered the
  25.     refresh rate at 60Hz and we had to make a lot of changes before we
  26.     could show it at the big screen. So this is not the actual demo
  27.     shown at the partyplace but the finished version. The demo is
  28.     written in Turbo Pascal 7 and its almighty assembler. The source
  29.     code is about 16000 lines long or 350Kb.
  30.     All code , music and most of the gfx is done by us. All fonts are
  31.     code-made using Pascal and the fractal background at the waterlike
  32.     effect was made with Fractint. The Batman logo is not ours, we took
  33.     it from a gif image - sorry but there isn't any real gfx artist in
  34.     the group...Most of the samples are made by Aris. Everything in
  35.     this demo is calculated realtime,there is not a single precalculated
  36.     table through it. Every frame of the mandelbrot zoomer is calculated
  37.     realtime too, except from the first frame that is stored in the exe
  38.     file,in order to display it at once.The final zooming factor is 262144.
  39.     Please don't tell us that the scrollers' texts are stupid because
  40.     that's what they intended to be...And of course...if this demo
  41.     crashes/destroys/BURNS :) your computer then we are to blame...so
  42.     simply don't run it ;)

  44.   - Running the demo
  45.  
  46.     Well this demo needs at least a fast 486 computer to run. If your
  47.     computer isn't fast enough the demo won't execute. Sorry about this
  48.     but it would be just awfull if you run it on a 386 or so. So you
  49.     can run this even on a 486dx2/66 but a Pentium is strongly recommended.
  50.     The demo also needs about 500kb of base memory and at least 500kb of
  51.     EMS, but if you run it on a 486 better give it as much EMS as possible.
  52.     Supported soundcards include SB,SBpro,SB16 and Gravis Ultrasound.
  53.     When running the demo it autodetects your sound card and decides
  54.     the mixing speed and stereo or mono playback for the Sound Blaster.
  55.     You can use the '+' and '-' keys to adjust music volume while the
  56.     demo executes.
