  14. This is the port of Midnight Commander to OS/2. I think it's now a
  15. BETA version with some (unknown) bugs, use it at your own risk!

  18. 1. Installation Instructions
  19. ------------

  21. The default installation directory is D:\MC, just copy all the files to
  22. this position and set the PATH to D:\MC. A small REXX program install.cmd
  23. will help you create a desktop icon.

  25. 2. Special notes
  26. -----------

  28. - You can also change the drive with F11 and F12.
  29.  
  30. - Unlike the early version, this version is static linked, so it does not 
  31.   need any additional DLL. It was also improved to be more faster. 
  32.  
  33. - After setting up your MC installation, you can save your setting using the
  34.   menu item "Save setup". If "show_output_starts_shell" is set to 1 in mc.ini, 
  35.   CTRL-O will start a subshell which is specified in your environment 
  36.   variable COMSPEC.

  38. - Using the switch -S, a batch file (.CMD) will be produced from MC for 
  39.   changing the directory to the last working place upon exit. 
  40.   NC.cmd will demonstrate this feature.

  45. I am using Warp 4 and IBM VisualAge C++ for this port. I don't think that
  46. it is a problem to run it with OS/2 2.x, but I can not verify it.
