Well, a previous X1 version had a misspelled, offending (German) statement
(to put it gently). This release is intended to put things right.
To explain things, I didn't make the original German translation myself. But I
did originally cut and paste it from various other places - hoping somebody
eventually would look it through and translate it right at some point. As of
now, it has not really been systematically edited by anybody. The statement in
question is a *major* embarrassment for me and I have now removed it. It is
completely out of context considering my scope.
Generally, I realize that I definitely have a problem, when I ask people (for
free) to translate the language module into a language, I do not understand
or have time to check. In most cases I have to trust that people will act
responsibly. So far this has! been the case. The current problem is mainly due
to negligence on my part.
I personally apologize to everybody offended - and urge people to delete
previous versions of the program. I understand peoples outrage and the
implication consequences.
I also wish to apologize to friends and people having contributed to the
project. I'm still stunned about how this could actually happen...
I wish to extend thanks to those, who have been standing up for me - correctly
stating that the statement cannot seriously reflect any opinion on my part.
People having been in contact with me should know, I don't go around making
offending remarks about people or nationalities. If the problem had been
brought to my attention previously, I would definitely have corrected it much
sooner.
