  5. Installation:

  8. o Unpack the zip-file, run the install program and reboot to make
  9.   the changes effective.

  28. o The install will add the device driver to CONFIG.SYS on the boot drive
  29.   and create an icon on the desktop for the QuickCam Viewer, QV2.
  30.  
  31. o This install can also be used to re-create an icon on the
  32.   desktop for QV2, existing CONFIG.SYS entries are left unchanged.

  34. o A reboot is required if the device-driver was not previously
  35.   installed.

  39. Parallel Port Notes:
  40. --------------------

  42. It is recommended that you set your parallel port to either AT-mode
  43. or EPP-mode for uni-directional or bi-directional modes, respectively.
  44. Bi-directional mode will give at least double the throughput compared
  45. to uni-directional mode. The parallel port is usually set up using the
  46. BIOS setup on your machine at boot time.

  49. Colour and your Desktop:
  50. ------------------------

  52. Owing to the many problems in creating a 256-colour picture from a
  53. 16Million one, there is a restriction for 256-colour desktops. The
  54. main problem is the time to analyse and process the picture. So for
  55. now there is a restriction that 256-colour desktops will present a
  56. picture using a greyscale.
