MIDI DB 1.2
Important Information
This information supplements the mididb.doc file.
New in 1.2
----------
At the database panel a FIND (alt-f) will search for the song that is
currently selected in the main panel if title, artist, and album are
all clear (CLEAR, alt-c, will do that). An active index is required
to use FIND.
In the selection panel the History LastPlay/LoadDate SMF selection filter
was not working correctly -- fixed. For example, to play only those songs
that have been loaded into the database on or after 11-Sept-97, enter
19970911 and select the After= button. Also check the SMF filter in the
Selection box, then press Set. Now when Next is pressed in the main panel,
only those songs loaded after this date are played.
In the selection panel the year filter has been changed to be a from/to
filter. To use, leave both blank, or enter either a from or to date, or
enter both a from and a to date. For example, to only play songs that were
released between 1960 and 1969, enter 1960 in the first box and 1969 in the
second. Check the Song filter box and press Set. To only plays songs before
1975 enter 1974 in the second box (leave the first box blank).
If a selection at first returns "No Match" in the main panel Status box,
press Next (again) to restart the search.

----------
Lyric and Notes MLE controls are now using tiled memory to overcome a 64KB
alignment problem (in OS/2 MLEs). The symptom would be where the Lyric/Notes
data was cut-off, short. If you did not edit the MLE all should be okay now,
otherwise the following steps can be used to reload the lyrics (only those
that have a problem):
1. Export the SMF (the one with the lyrics in case of more than one)
2. Push LYRICS; delete all text in the Lyrics MLE; press Done
3. Push "Add New" button, load the .mid created in #1 to reload lyrics
4. Delete SMF (since you already have a copy of the SMF)
(L) and (N) are appended to the Current Selection info in the main panel if
Lyrics/Notes are present for the current selection. In the database panel
the buttons for Lyrics/Notes are upper-cased when Lyrics/Notes are present.
The paradise.sys driver included must be installed. If you have a latter
version of the paradise driver already installed you should use the -later-
version.
GRADE entry in Database panel now limits field to 1 character.
Useful accelerator keys added.
-chk:4+ tallies total SMF bytes in database.
Previous Changes
----------------
Added ALL NOTES OFF to Reset Timer button
Added ALL SOUNDS OFF to Reset MPU button
Enabled -min switch

General
-------
See mididb.doc for install and use instructions.
Paradise driver 1.72 or later is required.
A starter database of 326 songs is available from the web site (9MB).
pgm.zip contains GM, GS, and XG program tables.
See _order.frm for check/money-order orders
See _order.cc for credit card/non-USA orders
For fastest response, supply your e-mail address and get
your registration instructions by e-mail, usually within
24 hours.
Screen Color
-----------
The application workspace color (the mixer client area) is displayed in
the current WPS settings. By default OS/2 uses white for the application
workspace, which will look a bit odd with the dialog-colored controls.
To change this scheme start the OS/2 Scheme Palette object and modify
any of the available schemes so that the "Application Workspace" is the
color you want (use the "Dialog Background" values as a starting point).
Once done (only takes a few seconds to change) drag the object onto the
desktop (you must hold down the Alt key to affect the entire system).
The Scheme Palette is found in the System Setup folder.
Song Play
---------
This evaluation version of MIDI DB plays the testsong.mid all
the way through. Other songs may play only partially until
registered. The database stores the full version, though
play may be partial until MIDI DB is registered. See the
order forms on how to order.
You must install paradise.sys according to the instructions in the
mididb.doc file before using MIDI DB.
