  28. What it is/does
  29.  
  30. Web Time 2.0.50 is simply that....A program to time your web usage.
  31. You can use it to make sure you don't go over your monthly allowed time or
  32. To see how addicted you (or the kids) really are to the net :-)

  34.   Keeps total time...until you reset it.
  35.   User configureable "Total Web Time"
  36.   Times the current connection.
  37.   Times multiple connections.
  38.   Auto finds the current connection and switches to it's settings.
  39.   Keeps written logs for each connection (Viewable/Printable).
  40.   It lets you set an alarm time (on or off-line).
  41.   Set it to clear your times on a specified day of the month.
  42.   Connect to/Disconnect from the web.
  43.   View your system memory stats.
  44.   Create shortcuts to the Desktop and Startup Group automatically.
  45.   And it's FREE.

  49. This program is currently for Windows 95 only.

  51. This program is FREEWARE. You may use and distribute it any way you want,

  60. A password is now able to be set from Web Time's main screen. Once you have
  61. set a password (Case Sensitive) you must use the password to edit everything.
  62. You can remove the password in the same way that you set it up, except don't
  63. enter anything in the password fields.

  67. Once setup, right click on the icon in the system tray. You have several
  68. choices.
  69.  
  70. 1) Connect To/Disconnect From the Web.
  71.    Pretty self explanatory.
  72.  
  73. 2) Time Settings
  74.     Set Total Web Time.
  75.     Allows you to change the "Total Web Time" at any time.
  76.     Clear Total Web Time.
  77.     Allows you to reset the "Total Web Time" to 00:00:00
  78.     Clear Current Time.
  79.     Allows you to reset the current connection time.

  81. 3) Alarms
  82.     Alarm Clock
  83.     Let's you set an alarm time to notify you when to "Get Off Line".
  84.     You must enter the time according to your system time. (EX= 02:15 or 2:15 or 14:15)
  85.     You can see this by looking at the clock in your system tray (bottom right corner
  86.     Of the screen. AM/PM is not necessary and will not be accepted in the text box.

  88.     Total Hours
  89.     Alerts you when you have reached this many hours of Total Web Time.
  90.     Leave this blank if you do not want to reset at a certain number of hours.

  92.     Day Reminder
  93.     On this day of the month, you will be reminded to reset your Total Web Time.
  94.     Leave this blank if you do not want to reset your Total Time on a monthly basis.

  96. 4) Show Tips
  97.     Show tips now.
  98.     Show tips on startup (Default).

  100. 5) Current Connection Log
  101.    View the log file of the currently chosen connection.
  102.    Clear the currently selected log file.
  103.  
  104. 6) System Memory Status
  105.    A screen that stays on top of all other Windows showing your memory status.
  106.    Put this screen in the position you want it to stay at. Next time you use
  107.    it, the screen will reopen in that same place.
  108.  
  109. 7) Show Me/Hide Me.
  110.    Puts the program on the screen for viewing / Sends the form back to the 
  111.    tray, out of your way.
  112.    Right click on the form or the tray icon to see the popup  menu. 
  113.    The menu changes depending on weather the form is in the tray or on the 
  114.    screen.

  116. 8) About Web Time
  117.     Shows a dialog screen to view information about Web Time
  118.  
  119. 9) Disable.
  120.    Disables the timer that watches for your dialup connection and stops 
  121.    the timer.
  122.  
  123. 10) Exit - Self explanatory.

  127. .LOG file extentions.
  128.  
  129. The log file is the name of your Dialup Connection.log. Ex=Myconnection.log
  130. Normally Windows95 and NT already have the .log extension registered and will
  131. view it in Wordpad.
  132. To register this extension on your computer permanently do the following.
  133.   Use Explorer to navigate to where ever you installed Web Time. 
  134.   (Default is C:\Program Files\Web Time 2.0)
  135.   Double click on the .log file.
  136.   A window will pop up asking you what you want to use to view the file with.
  137.   Choose Wordpad (at the end of the list).
  138.   Make sure the check box at the bottom of that window is checked, to always 
  139.   use Wordpad.
  140. Windows will now always use Wordpad to view any .log file.
  141.  
  142. From then on you will be able to view it from Web Time's menu.

  146. Create Shortcuts
  147.    When the form is in view, choose "Shortcuts" from the menu.
  148.    Makes shortcuts to the Desktop and/or Startup Group.

  151. Deleting Shortcuts
  152.  
  153. 1)To delete the shortcut to your "Startup Group" complete the following:
  154.     A. Click on Start\Settings\Taskbar...
  155.     B. Click on the "Start Menu Programs" tab.
  156.     C. Click on the "Remove" button.
  157.     D. Click the "+" next to the "Startup" folder.
  158.     E. Click on "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0".
  159.     F. Click the "Remove" button.
  160.  
  161. Delete Desktop shortcut
  162.  
  163. 2)To delete the shortcut to your "Desktop" complete the following:
  164.     A. Right click on the "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0" icon.
  165.     B. Choose delete from the menu.
  166.             OR
  167.     A. Left click on the "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0" icon.
  168.     B. Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

  172. UnInstalling this program
  173.  
  174. Web Time 2.0 can be uninstalled by using the normal Windows 95 uninstall.
  175. To uninstall the Web Time 2.0 application complete the following:
  176.     A. Click Start\Settings\Control Panel.
  177.     B. Double click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
  178.     C. Find "Web Time 2.0" in the list and click on it.
  179.     D. Click the "Add/Remove" button and follow any instructions.

  182. WebTim20.Ini File 
  183.  
  184. This application maintains an WebTim20.Ini file in your Windows folder.
  185. This .Ini file can be deleted without harm to your system or the 
  186. application.
  187. If it is deleted, you will simply have to reset a few settings the next time
  188. you start the application.
  189. It is possible that this file may not be deleted during an uninstall. If 
  190. this is true then you can simply use "File Explorer" to navigate your way 
  191. to your "Windows" folder, find "WebTim20.ini" and delete it.
