- What it is/does
-
- Web Time 2.0.50 is simply that....A program to time your web usage.
- You can use it to make sure you don't go over your monthly allowed time or
- To see how addicted you (or the kids) really are to the net :-)

- Keeps total time...until you reset it.
- User configureable "Total Web Time"
- Times the current connection.
- Times multiple connections.
- Auto finds the current connection and switches to it's settings.
- Keeps written logs for each connection (Viewable/Printable).
- It lets you set an alarm time (on or off-line).
- Set it to clear your times on a specified day of the month.
- Connect to/Disconnect from the web.
- View your system memory stats.
- Create shortcuts to the Desktop and Startup Group automatically.
- And it's FREE.

- A password is now able to be set from Web Time's main screen. Once you have
- set a password (Case Sensitive) you must use the password to edit everything.
- You can remove the password in the same way that you set it up, except don't
- enter anything in the password fields.

- Once setup, right click on the icon in the system tray. You have several
- choices.
-
- 1) Connect To/Disconnect From the Web.
- Pretty self explanatory.
-
- 2) Time Settings
- Set Total Web Time.
- Allows you to change the "Total Web Time" at any time.
- Clear Total Web Time.
- Allows you to reset the "Total Web Time" to 00:00:00
- Clear Current Time.
- Allows you to reset the current connection time.

- 3) Alarms
- Alarm Clock
- Let's you set an alarm time to notify you when to "Get Off Line".
- You must enter the time according to your system time. (EX= 02:15 or 2:15 or 14:15)
- You can see this by looking at the clock in your system tray (bottom right corner
- Of the screen. AM/PM is not necessary and will not be accepted in the text box.

- Total Hours
- Alerts you when you have reached this many hours of Total Web Time.
- Leave this blank if you do not want to reset at a certain number of hours.

- Day Reminder
- On this day of the month, you will be reminded to reset your Total Web Time.
- Leave this blank if you do not want to reset your Total Time on a monthly basis.

- 4) Show Tips
- Show tips now.
- Show tips on startup (Default).

- 5) Current Connection Log
- View the log file of the currently chosen connection.
- Clear the currently selected log file.

- 6) System Memory Status
- A screen that stays on top of all other Windows showing your memory status.
- Put this screen in the position you want it to stay at. Next time you use
- it, the screen will reopen in that same place.

- 7) Show Me/Hide Me.
- Puts the program on the screen for viewing / Sends the form back to the
- tray, out of your way.
- Right click on the form or the tray icon to see the popup menu.
- The menu changes depending on weather the form is in the tray or on the
- screen.

- 8) About Web Time
- Shows a dialog screen to view information about Web Time

- 9) Disable.
- Disables the timer that watches for your dialup connection and stops
- the timer.

- 10) Exit - Self explanatory.

- .LOG file extentions.
-
- The log file is the name of your Dialup Connection.log. Ex=Myconnection.log
- Normally Windows95 and NT already have the .log extension registered and will
- view it in Wordpad.
- To register this extension on your computer permanently do the following.
- Use Explorer to navigate to where ever you installed Web Time.
- (Default is C:\Program Files\Web Time 2.0)
- Double click on the .log file.
- A window will pop up asking you what you want to use to view the file with.
- Choose Wordpad (at the end of the list).
- Make sure the check box at the bottom of that window is checked, to always
- use Wordpad.
- Windows will now always use Wordpad to view any .log file.

- From then on you will be able to view it from Web Time's menu.

- Create Shortcuts
- When the form is in view, choose "Shortcuts" from the menu.
- Makes shortcuts to the Desktop and/or Startup Group.

- Deleting Shortcuts
-
- 1)To delete the shortcut to your "Startup Group" complete the following:
- A. Click on Start\Settings\Taskbar...
- B. Click on the "Start Menu Programs" tab.
- C. Click on the "Remove" button.
- D. Click the "+" next to the "Startup" folder.
- E. Click on "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0".
- F. Click the "Remove" button.

- Delete Desktop shortcut

- 2)To delete the shortcut to your "Desktop" complete the following:
- A. Right click on the "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0" icon.
- B. Choose delete from the menu.
- OR
- A. Left click on the "Shortcut to Web Time 2.0" icon.
- B. Press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.

- UnInstalling this program
-
- Web Time 2.0 can be uninstalled by using the normal Windows 95 uninstall.
- To uninstall the Web Time 2.0 application complete the following:
- A. Click Start\Settings\Control Panel.
- B. Double click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
- C. Find "Web Time 2.0" in the list and click on it.
- D. Click the "Add/Remove" button and follow any instructions.

- WebTim20.Ini File
-
- This application maintains an WebTim20.Ini file in your Windows folder.
- This .Ini file can be deleted without harm to your system or the
- application.
- If it is deleted, you will simply have to reset a few settings the next time
- you start the application.
- It is possible that this file may not be deleted during an uninstall. If
- this is true then you can simply use "File Explorer" to navigate your way
- to your "Windows" folder, find "WebTim20.ini" and delete it.
