  16. ** General Information **
  17.     SurfMapper utility automatically records every site and page visited whilst surfing the Web, 
  18.     it also maintains a global history of the different sessions.
  19.  
  20.     SurfMapper presents the sites and web pages visited inside a floating window on top of the IE browser, 
  21.     and is displayed as a few tree structures organized by sites, sessions etc. 
  22.     The tree is expandable to see the history of any session, or the internal structure of any site visited.

  24.     Double-clicking any site or page navigates to that URL immediately.
  25.     Right-clicking opens a pop-up menu in which it is possible to rearrange the database, 
  26.     add notes to sites and pages (which can be queried later), and see the properties of the page 
  27.     (dates and times of visit, parameters the URL was called with, etc.).

  29.     SurfMapper query-tab allows for many queries that search the history by URL, title, notes entered, and so on.

  31.     SurfMapper also enables efficient management of bookmarks, First by assigning an icon on the bottom 
  32.     toolbar to a selected favorites folder, thereafter adding the current URL to that folder by simply clicking its icon.

  35. ** Running **
  36.     To activate run SurfMapper.exe from the installation directory.
  37.     SurfMapper will activate Internet Explorer 3, and will open a floating window
  38.     to the right of the screen.

  40. ** SurfMapper Tabs **
  41.     SurfMapper window has 3 tabs, all present in a tree structure the following:
  42.     - Current - Sites and pages you have visited during the current session.
  43.     - Chrono  - All Explorer sessions, each session can be expanded to show 
  44.             all the sites and pages visited in that session.
  45.     - Sites   -    All sites from all sessions, each site can be expanded to show 
  46.             all the pages visited in that site.

  48.     In these 3 tabs, pages in a site can be displayed grayed, if you have not visited 
  49.     them directly, but one of their children. 
  50.     e.g. : you have visited directly http://www.mllhaifa.co.il/products/staffing,
  51.     the tree will show: * www.mllhaifa.co.il
  52.                     * products (grayed)
  53.                     * staffing

  55.     Other 3 tabs show the following: 
  56.     - Activities -  Files downloaded while surfing.
  57.     - Query     -  In this tab you can query the database and find sites or pages, 
  58.                 by searching Title/URL/Remark/All containing text string.
  59.                 You can also search for files downloaded by dates/sites.
  60.     - Options    -  Here you can define useful options for SurfMapper.

  63. ** Properties **
  64.     When focused on a site or html page, you can right click the mouse to open
  65.     a pop-up menu. One of the options is the Properties options, in which you can see 
  66.     the site/page visit dates and time, parameters (if used), and you can attach a note
  67.     to this site/page which can be queried later.

  69. ** Registration **
  70.     SurfMapper is downloaded as evaluation program, for 30 days.
  71.     After 30 days, you can register for 15$ as following:
  72.     - Click the "Register" button on the flash (start) screen
  73.     - Enter your name, if it is not there already
  74.     - Click "Registration Form" to see the Fax Registration Form (in Notepad)
  75.     - Print the form, fill in details (credit card details and E-mail),
  76.       and fax it to the number printed above
  77.     - You will receive your registration code by E-mail
  78.     - To register, click again the "Register" button on the flash screen 
  79.       and now click "Register" in the registration screen. Type in your code
  80.       and you are done!

  82. ** Installation **
  83.     SurfMapper requires Visual Basic 5 runtime to run.
  84.     The installation requires MS Internet Explorer 3 previously installed.

  86.     Installation comes in 2 files:
  87.         - VB.ZIP -     includes the Visual Basic 5 runtime files.
  88.             To install - Unzip it into a temp directory and run setup.exe
  89.             Visual Basic 5 should be installed BEFORE installing SM.ZIP
  90.         - SM.ZIP -    includes SurfMapper programs.
  91.             To install - Unzip it into a temp directory and run setup.exe

  94. ** Upgrade **
  95.  
  96.     1. Uninstall SurfMapper using the "Add/Remove Program" option in the Control Panel.
  97.        Don't uninstall the VB runtime.
  98.     2. Delete \Windows\System\DMP.OCX
  99.     3. Follow the installation instructions above for SM.ZIP only.

  101. ** Requirements **

  103.     SurfMapper requires Windows 95 and MS Internet Explorer 3.
