  1. Thank you for installing a Connectix Desktop Designer ThemePak!
  2.  
  3. If you're already a Desktop Designer user, then you know that 
  4. Desktop Designer is the best tool for creating, customizing 
  5. and using desktop themes for Windows 95. If this is the first 
  6. ThemePak you've installed, please read further to find out how 
  7. to use this ThemePak.
  8.  
  9. For First Time Users:
  10. To use this themepak, you'll need to do the following easy steps:
  11.  
  12. 1. Right Mouse Click anywhere on your Windows desktop
  13. 2. Select Properties
  14. 3. Select the Desktop Designer tab
  15. 4. Choose the theme to apply from the drop-down list
  16. 5. Click apply.
  17.  
  18. That's all! To access other installed themes, just select them 
  19. through the Desktop Designer tab. If Microsoft Plus! is 
  20. installed on the system, you'll be able to select and use 
  21. Plus! themes.

  23. To find out more about Desktop Designer, just click on the 
  24. "More Information" button on the lower right hand corner of 
  25. the Desktop Designer tab.

  28. * USING MICROSOFT(r) Plus! (tm) COMPATIBLE THEMES
  29.  
  30. ** ONLY If you already have MS PLUS! **
  31.  
  32. Connectix Desktop Designer Lite can use any properly installed
  33. MS Plus! theme IF YOU ALREADY HAVE MICROSOFT PLUS! INSTALLED. 
  34. Third party themes, however, can present special problems unless 
  35. they are setup properly. Simply follow the tips below:
  36.  
  37. 1. Any third-party theme that can be accessed by MS Plus! Can easily
  38. be accessed by Desktop Designer. Just use it as you would any other 
  39. theme. (Note: For copyright reasons, we do not allow sharing of the
  40. original, copyrighted MS Plus themes.)
  41.  
  42. 2. It's a good idea to make sure to thoroughly understand the in-
  43. stallation instructions for a theme. Themes posted on the web usually 
  44. have a README file that tells you how to install all the theme files. 
  45.  
  46. 3. If you have trouble installing and using any theme, don't despair!
  47. Simply place ALL the theme component files, including the .ico, .ani, 
  48. .cur, wallpaper, and .theme files in the following directory (default 
  49. install):

  51. C:Program Files\Connectix\Connectix Desktop Designer\Themepacks
  52.  
  53. If you did not select the default directory during installation, just
  54. make sure to place all the files in the *Themepacks* folder in the
  55. Desktop Designer application folder.
