DOCS for Remind Me v1.16 (c) 1993 by Glen Neal
REQUIREMENTS ------------------------------------------------------------
Remind Me requires Windows 3.1 and Soundblaster or compatible sound card.
A mouse is required. Complete keyboard support will be added soon.
DESCRIPTION -------------------------------------------------------------
Remind Me is a windows application you will want to load
at startup and leave running. It is meant to run minimized or hidden.
It starts up showing the current day. You can select other days from the
View menu, which shows the days of the week as well as today.
OPERATION ---------------------------------------------------------------
To get started, you need to add your first new item. In the Edit menu,
select Add Item, or click on the Add button to the right. You will be
presented with a dialog which is easy to use but has many options.
The first section is for your message. Type the message you want to appear
when the alarm reminder goes off. Something like 'KFOR-4 Star Trek NG'.
Now set the time for the alarm. Up to three times can be specified for each
reminder. The format is HH:MMp. HH is hours, MM is minutes, and p is period.
Examples: 7:00p 9:00p 11:00p 8:00a 12:30a 5:00p. You can also
spicify alarms every XX minutes or every XX hours.
Now set the date for the alarm. You can set Weekdays (Monday-Friday),
Weekends (Saturday & Sunday), Days (Any day or combination), or up to
three certain dates. The format for dates is MM/DD/YY or just MM/DD.
A date with a single number indicate that day of every month.
Select Play Wave if you want a WAV file to be played when the reminder
comes on. You can accept the default wave or specify a unique wave for
each reminder, which is kinda neat. For example, a Star Trek sound byte
for a Star Trek TV reminder.
Pick OK on the dialog and you're all set for your first reminder. Each time
you pick OK, your reminders are saved for you. There is no need to
remember to save your changes, Remind Me does that for you.
To edit an item, double-click on one of the items shown in the list for
today, or pick Edit from the buttons at right.
The Find button shows the next item to be shown.
THIS IS SHAREWARE! ------------------------------------------------------
You may try out this program for a reasonable time. If you continue to use
it, please register it.
This shareware version is NOT crippled in any way! It simply reminds you
to register, once for every 10 times you use it.
I have my doubts about this shareware business. We will see about honor.
WHY SHOULD I REGISTER? --------------------------------------------------
Aside from freedom of guilt and a good nights sleep, here's what you get:
+ A disk containing the registered, NO NAG latest version.
+ A megabyte of .wav file samples on the disk to try out.
+ Full access to the support bbs PC-Oklahoma for three months.
+ This documentation in printed form.
HOW DO I REGISTER? ------------------------------------------------------

HOW DO I GET THE NEWEST VERSION? -----------------------------------------
+ Call the support bbs PC-Oklahoma at 405-243-3200.
New versions are posted regularly.
+ We have several Windows 3.1 products for you to try. All are available
for downloading on your fist call.
TROUBLESHOOTING ----------------------------------------------------------
+ If you get the message saying BWCC.DLL was not found, or error = -1,
call the support bbs at 405-243-3200 and download BWCCDLL.ZIP.
Unzip it into your Windows System folder. No need to restart windows.
Other windows programs will need this DLL also. It is similar to the DLL
used by Visual Basic, VBRUN200.DLL.
+ If it says a sound driver is not installed, go to the Windows control
panel, and run the Sounds icon. Select ADD, and pick a Soundblaster
driver that is for your card version.
I will add support for other sound cards and the pc speaker soon.
Please call the support bbs if you have problems or discover a bug(!).
