1. What is Help Edit
---------------------
Adr_Book is a simple database program that prints a very handy address
booklet, mailing labels, envelopes, and several reports.
The address booklet is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. A perfect size for your
own personal address book, but also great for organizations, clubs, and
churches.
The mailing labels can be printed by zip code order and with all capital
letters for the name and address. Perfect for saving money on bulk mail
rates.
The envelopes can be printed in three popular sizes. The postnet code
can be printed. Different fonts and point sizes can be specified for the
return address and addressee.
2. What is new from 1.0
------------------------
a. Several printing bugs with the address booklet.
b. Label printing can now be positioned for alignment.
c. Label printing can now specify on which label to begin to allow
reuse of partially printed sheets.
d. Envelopes (though still limited) can specify from which side of the
paper tray they will be printed, and positioning forward or back.
e. The system date is automatically added to new records.
f. Field sizes have increased for address lines, phone numbers, state code.
g. An entry is no longer required for the first name field.
3. INSTALLATION
----------------
To perform the installation insert the floppy in drive A or B and run
INSTALL from Windows.
If all of the files are currently on your hard drive you can still
install the program by running the INSTALL.EXE from Windows.
4. FILES ON THE DISK(S).(Registered Version)

5. Why Register?
----------------
Registering brings with it a number of advantages.
First of all you will not be limited to a database with a maximum of
50 records. You won't get the nag dialog box when you start Adr_Book.
You will feel better. (maybe)
You will have supported Alaska Software Development, which is mostly
non existent save data processing at the local banks.
> And most importantly if I can afford to take Alberta out to dinner,
> she just might not think this was a colossal waste of time.
Well, I actually was able to take Alberta out to a greasy spoon from
the first release - but she still thinks it is a colossal waste of
time. I don't know, there is a simple joy in believing you have made
a contribution even if there is no significant monetary reward.
BUT I HAVE A PLAN! I'll take her south of Anchorage to the small town
of Girdwood. (It is the real home of Tommy Moe for those of you who
followed the Olympics) It is about a 40 minute drive along the Turnagain
Arm. A beautiful drive. Mountains thrusting vertically on both sides
of the ocean waters. There is a tram that goes up the mountain that is
home to Alyeska ski resort. A new restaurant at the top opened this year
and perhaps dessert as the sun is setting over the peaks ....... Hmmmm,
Sorry, thanks for listening.
