  93. This package contains the PB/WORKSHOP(tm) VISUAL INTERFACE DESIGNER -
  94. TEST DRIVE Version 1.03, by DSE SOFTWARE PUBLISHING.  This document
  95. contains only a brief description of the package and its features, along
  96. with instructions for its installation.  Quite detailed documentation is
  97. included in the package, but it is in archived form, and is more easily
  98. read after installation.

  100. PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE is a demonstration program.  This evaluation
  101. version includes all features of the program, with the exception of the
  102. ability to generate source code or compile resource files.  These
  103. options are enabled in the commercial release version.

  105. If you like the program, and wish to purchase the actual product, you
  106. are required to pay for the program (see ORDER_ME.TXT for more details).
  107. Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to
  108. obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their copying and

  134. ===== Installation =====================================
  135.  
  136. The installation procedure for PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE is quite
  137. simple.  The package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates
  138. the entire process.  You will need about 600k of available disk space on
  139. the hard drive on which you plan to install PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE.
  140.  
  141. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  142. PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE.
  143.  
  144. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  145.  
  146. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  147.  
  148.    o  Place PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE distribution diskette "Disk 1" in
  149.       the appropriate diskette drive.
  150.  
  151.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  152.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type the
  153.       MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  154.  
  155.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  156.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  157.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The program
  158.       will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the
  159.       PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE files to that directory.  If you
  160.       received PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE on two diskettes, you will
  161.       need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette drive when asked to do so.
  162.       If you so direct it, the installation program will install
  163.       executable programs and documentation in other directories of your
  164.       choice.  It will make no other changes; specifically, it will not
  165.       modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  168. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  169.  
  170. If you downloaded PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE from a BBS (or received it
  171. in the form of archive files from some other source), you will need to
  172. perform the following steps.
  173.  
  174.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  175.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  176.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  177.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  178.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to perform
  179.       this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain directions for
  180.       this from the same source from which you received the package.
  181.  
  182.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  183.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  184.       the PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would
  185.       execute the MS-DOS command, "c:\tempdir\install".

  187.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  188.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  189.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The program

  206. (filename extension "doc") which have been installed.  In particular,
  207. read at least the "Overview" and "Quick Start" sections of the file

  209. invoke the program, and will give you other information you need to
  210. properly evaluate PB/WORKSHOP(tm) TEST DRIVE.  We hope you enjoy the
