  87. This package contains the SNAP_P(TM) (Version 3.0 for both DOS and
  88. Windows), by Neptune Systems.  SNAP_P (StaNdArd Printer-Pascal)
  89. reformats Pascal source code into a structured format that you specify.
  90. This document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  91. features, along with instructions for its installation.

  93. If you work with Pascal, and you've ever had trouble reading someone
  94. else's code SNAP_P can save you hours of frustration.  If you have a
  95. commercial programming shop, these savings translate to profit. Readable
  96. code is a must for reliability and maintainability.

  98. SNAP_P provides a way to protect blocks of code from modification.  The
  99. interface part of a unit is often carefully hand crafted for ease of
  100. reading.  SNAP_P will not reformat the interface unless told to.
  101.  
  102. SNAP_P is safe to use. It will never change the original source code
  103. without your permission, and even then it makes a backup copy first.
  104. SNAP_P makes no strange changes to your hard disk. System integrity is
  105. preserved on installation or removal.

  107. SNAP_P is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes all
  108. features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may use it
  109. for up to 30 days, without charge (see SNAP_P.DOC for more details).  If
  110. you like the program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation
  111. period, you are required to pay for the program (see SNAP_P.FRM for more
  112. details).  Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers,

  139. INSTALLATION
  140.  
  141. The installation procedure for SNAP_P is quite simple.  Essentially, you
  142. just copy the program and run it.  You will need about 300K of available
  143. disk space on the hard drive on which you plan to install SNAP_P.  The
  144. installation is non-intrusive; SNAP_P will not make any changes to your
  145. system.
  146.  
  147. There are two .EXE files in the distribution package:  SNAP_PD.EXE for
  148. DOS and SNAP_PW for Windows.  You should create a home directory for
  149. SNAP_P and copy either (or both) of the .EXE files to this directory.
  150. The name of the directory is not important.  SNAP_P will write to the
  151. home directory, so you shouldn't put the .EXE files in the root
  152. directory.  If you want to execute from anywhere in your system the new
  153. directory should be in the path.  If you want to use SNAP_P as a tool in
  154. a Borland product, see SNAP_P.DOC for details.  If you want to try
  155. SNAP_P from a read-only device (CD for example) you can, but you will
  156. not be able to change the options or save the dictionary.

  160. To get started, run SNAP_P without any command line parameters.  SNAP_P
  161. will go into full interactive mode.  When you reformat a Pascal source
  162. file, you see the original and new files side-by-side.  You may change
  163. the options until you get a style you like.  You may find some blocks
  164. you want to protect from any processing.  See SNAP_P.DOC for how to do
  165. this.  SNAP_P will never change the original file without your
  166. permission, and even then will make a backup copy first.  After you get
  167. a style you like you can start using batch mode.  See SNAP_P.DOC for
  168. details and command line syntax.
